I’m 16 days post op but finding it very difficult to get my Protein AND liquids in. I’ve been living off cottage cheese and can do 1/4 cup at a time. I used to LOVE the Protein Shakes the first week and now I can’t stand them. They are too sweet. I bought GENEPRO and that’s helping a lot. Can you give me examples of what you eat and drink?

I am facing the same problem with Protein Shakes. They're now nauseatingly sweet. I was going to try using some unflavored Protein Powder and mixing it with chicken broth but I am so close to getting to the pureed stage that I'll just power through. Pureed stage comes for me on Tuesday as I will be fully 14 days post-op.

I am sick to death of milky Protein Drinks, too, blech! I'm a longtime green smoothie gal, so hopefully one day I'll get there again.

My next stage is: flakey fish, tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, eggs, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, refried Beans, smashed bananas, applesauce, mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes/cauliflower. Its a veritable cornucopia of food, 2 ounces at a time! I can't wait.

Is greek yogurt allowed yet? Also, have you tried Bone Broth?

Breakfasts are generally a banana Protein Shake cut with unsweetened peanut powder (to cut the sweetness overall). lunch of have half a package of tuna (those that come preflavored in the pouch) and maybe a sargento reduced fat cheese stick. Mid afternoon snack the rest of the tuna. dinner some sort of meat and a little bit of Soup. When in doubt egg whites are my fill in. For extra Protein I have a couple of extra concentrated shakes that I freeze in an ice pop mold for dessert (for some reason the sweetness bothers me less when i have to lick it). Depending on the day I also have an extra shake ready (or pick up a bottle of Isopure zero carb to sip throughout the day). Plus I much on spicy picke chips and or some other semi soft veg, when feeling so inclined.

Isopure ready-made blue raspberry or punch diluted with crystal light lemonade was all I could tolerate after surgery. Bone Broth.

Unjury chicken broth Protein mix is suprisingly good. It's granulated protein and easily mixes with a spoon. Use it in warm Water, and tastes just like chick broth.

Cheapest place to buy I found was from the Unjury website

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
