Post-Pregnancy weight loss

Recommended Posts

So, I had my first baby on 3/10/15. Had surgery 4/27/15. Lost from 300 pounds to 120 by April 27, 2016. Got pregnant April 2017 and delivered on December 6, 2018. I gained 30 pounds during pregnancy which is what my doctor wanted. I lost 10 pounds the first week but have been at a stand still since. I started back walking 2 -3 miles a day at 2 weeks after delivery. I started running at 6 weeks after. By 9 weeks out I was back at work, running 20 -30 miles a week, doing zumba for an hour a week, body pump 2 hours a week, and doing beach body on demand for about 2 to 3 hours a week (20 - 30 minutes a day). I was eating about 1600 to 1800 calories pre-pregnancy. During pregnancy I ate about 1400 since I was not able to exercise like I used to. I am eating 800 to 1200 calories now and doing all this exercise and still no loss. I am baffled. I do fit into my skinny jeans but not as good as before. I am not sure what else I can do to get this weight off. I have an appointment with my nutritionist and doctor scheduled. BTW, I am 40 so I know I won't "bounce back" like a 20 year old,but still. It's been 3 months since I delivered and NOTHING.

Yeah you're still too young for the middle age spread and besides it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Enjoy you little ones, take them for walks in the fresh air, it will do all of you good! And give them each a hug from the Bariatric Godmother ME

Ana are you doing any of these exercises from a Fasted state or all after a meal (within 3 hrs). The body always burns blood sugar first before it will switch to fat stores. if you can do some lifting in the morning it will burn thru your blood sugar and make it easier to burn fat (skinny jeans worst enemy) also dont cut any more calories you will only cause a negative response from your body. You are plenty active for that number of calories.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
