Getting this party started!

Just wanted to pop on and say hi! I have been reading for a while but wanted to introduce myself and get to know you all. My name is Kerry and I am the mama of 2 crazy amazing little boys and the wife of a supportive husband. I am in stage 2 approval through Molina and working through my appointments that I have to complete. I love getting to read the good, the bad, and the ugly!

So how many months long was it for you? My son has Caresource, he has gone to seminars etc with me, went to a seminar for program #2, this wiil be at OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio. He technically would qualify himself with a comorbidity of 37BMI, found out he would have to go 9 months. Thought he might follow me through bit he says Not Yet. If he's not ready I'm not going to pressure him. If he has a "come to Jesus" moment he knows the steps because he got a bariatric folder also. Good thing because I have been known to misplace things. Well I know they are here, I just forgot where I laid them down. Worst was the day I thought,i had lost my glasses and they were on the top of my headm. But I was prepared to get frantic if necessary! ,,,,,,,,if ou have any questions to ask, please feel free to, if I don't have an answer someone on Bariatric Pal will. Welcome again, please stay and be our friend!

You made the correct decision to not put pressure on your son to get the surgery. The decision is a very personal one and by berating and badgering, you will only push him further away. Sadly, it took me developing Type 2 Diabetes to finally begin serious and sober consideration of it. I was diagnosed with diabetes in January of 2017. Finally, in September of 2017, at the urging of my primary care doctor, I attended a seminar. After completing all of the pre-requisites by the end of this January, I had surgery on March 12th. My only regret is not doing this sooner. I am 41 years old. Yes, there is some pain and discomfort after surgery but I know I am alive and getting healthier.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
