Hubby now wants surgery

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

Hubby was adamant before my surgery he was not interested, but he went in for a consult last week and is now working through insurance requirements! I am happy he wants to be healthy and it will be great working together. Watching him eat Pasta and garlic bread is tough when I'm sipping on a Protein Shake or 3 oz of chicken breast!

Has anyone gone through this process with your SO? Pros? Cons? I read somewhere that divorce rate for couples where one has gone through WLS is 85% but what if both??

My wife had it 5 years ago. I had mine 11-15-2017. I supported her in her journey and she returned the favor on mine. Going on 33 years together no problems here.....that post on the divorce rate, I call BS

Yay!

I call bs on the divorce rate as well, I mean how many people were actually polled and then compared to the national divorce rate based on 'what demographics'?

Yes very excited about that! Our date nights will be super cheap! He's been very supportive and took good care of me while I was recovering. I'm happy I get to do the same.

@doug548

Divorce is not really in our vocabulary but it was a little shocking. We Celebrate our 10 years this May, he's stuck with me! Its so sweet you two have worked together to have a healthy lifestyle. I'm excited to be able to show our 3 boys what healthy eating and actions look like.

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
