Insurance timeframe

Recommended Posts

So my Insurance required me to have three months of consecutive weight loss and tomorrow is my final weigh-in. After that my understanding is that they will have 30 to 45 days to approve everything. In everyone else's experience, how long was it between Insurance approval and surgery being scheduled? I'm speaking as someone from the United States. My insurance is through Aetna and my surgery is being done by Saint Francis. I've lost weight every month, but I'm so afraid of being denied regardless.

I also have Aetna. My last weigh in was the 10th of November and my doctor submitted my paperwork. I was approved about 12 days later by Aetna and had my surgery Dec 26. I am a teacher and that date was best for me!! Good luck!

we have prime remote...husband is deployed and we dont live within 50n miles of a MTF. im excited and nervous; I have been heavy (post partum 11 yrs ago and never lost the baby weight, then 7 years ago just packed on more) for me for so long and have tried to lose it for over 10 years....so depressing....

Kaynga, I was gonna tease you a little, if your surgery,is being done by a Saint,it surely will be blessed. Where is Saint Francis located? My hospital's name,is Mount Carmel so while you're relying on a Saint I will be venturing to the Mount. Bottom line I wish you well with your future surgery.

Haha, I didn't even realize since I'm so used to it as a hospital name. It's St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. I guess we'll both be blessed at least. ;) I wish you the best on your surgery as well!!

ok not to obsess over the tricare issue, but if you go thru a MTF do you have to pay anything out of pocket? I am 2 hours away from one but id go there for that if I dont have to pay office visits...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
