Thought I had it all under control...

Recommended Posts

Okay so I’m 3 days post op and getting close to goal on liquids but I have the following questions...
1. How do I take my crushed medication when liquids only. It’s so nasty mixed in Water
2. How are you getting Protein in with just liquids. My plan seems to be more concerned with liquids the first week and not so much with protein
3. Have not had a bowel movement since 3 days before surgery. I’m not uncomfortable but know I need to get things moving.

4. I had my gallbladder taken out the same time as my sleeve. I wouldn’t be in any pain if it wasn’t for my lower right abdomen. What happened there? Think that’s where they pulled stomach and gallbladder from? The incision by bellybutton doesn’t hurt as much as my insides do on my right Thank god for heating pad

Thanks!

1, Crush your meds and put the powder in sugar free Cool Whip....they'll slide right down...less nasty taste.

2. For the first couple of weeks get your Protein from Protein Shakes. Alternate each hour between clear fluids and protein shakes. Get four ounces of clear Fluid one hour, and four ounces of Protein Shake the next. Do this every hour you are awake and you will make your goals. Protein shake counts as fluid, too. One ounce per 15 minutes will get you there.

3. I like Smooth Move tea. It's gentle and sold in the herbal teas at most stores.

You can also Water down Protein Shakes and just sip that all day. Just make sure your plan isn't only 'clear liquids'. I would start some Miralax asap as well otherwise you'll be very unhappy with the first BM. Smooth Move tea is good too, but is a stimulant laxative and not a good idea for longer periods of time

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
