To all of you on your liquid diet or starting it soon...this will be the hardest thing you are having to do because we aren't used to it. But after a couple days you will feel better! Remember to have your broth when feeling tired and little strength because the salt is important. Just go easy on the broth if you have high blood pressure. I thought I couldn't do the liquid stage but if you want the surgery it is extremely important to shrink the liver. Most Obese or Morbidly Obese people have fatty liver which makes it difficult to perform the surgery. I have heard that some doctors will not do the surgery if they look inside at the beginning of surgery and you didn't do the liquid diet. It feels like hell now because your stomach is still big and hungry. After surgery you won't want even broth at first. The only thing I wanted was ice chips and sugar free popsicles. Good Luck! Hang in there!

Well, I didn't have a schedule, I just had my Protein Shakes. I started my day with a Premier shake but not anymore I have my own whey Protein because its cheaper to mix it in a shaker cup. But your stomach will dictate your schedule for you. When you are hungry put more Fluid in. How many shakes did they say you could have a day. 2 or 3? Are they allowing you the sugar free pops? If they are girl go get some! No sugar added is fine too. They have some called Price saver sugar free twin pops at Walmart that I ate all the time. It helps to have something to eat and not just drink. Have plenty on hand all the time. Its been a lifesaver to me even now after surgery. My surgery was 12/12/17. I had to go through my birthday, wedding anniversary and Christmas on a liquid diet. You can do this! If I can anyone can. It does suck but keep it in mind that you are in need of the surgery not a good meal. Be strong! Don't let your cravings sabotage your journey to success!

How are you doing? I’m on day 6 of 14 and am being very strict. I’ve lost 10 lbs (probably Water but still!) and I’ve noticed it’s curing me of the BLTs (bites, licks and tastes) I usually do with my kids’ food. I’m glad I’m doing it, it’s good preparation for post-op!

Hi!! Day one is rough! But I have stayed on track and still have another shake and sf Jello to go. I think it will get easier. It is nice with a goal in site.

Good luck!!

Hi everyone. I’m new to this also. I’m in day 4 of my liquid diet and surgery is scheduled for the 26th of this month. It’s nice to see everyone’s comments and to know I’m not the only one doing this.

Good luck mine is the 24th

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
