Eat as much Protein as possible. I had hairloss around the third month it lasted for about two months. I ended up cutting my hair short. But now it’s fine.

My hair after i cut I cut it off and my hair now.

Take Biotin and silica and eat a lot of Protein. I neglected myself for a while after my surgery and didn’t eat or take my Vitamins and my hair fell out like crazy but I’ve been taking. All my vitamins plus biotin, silica and it’s helping my hair fall out less, my nails used to be real flimsy and now they are growing pretty strong

I have long hair too and potential Hair loss is totally freaking me out. I meet my Protein goal nearly every day in hopes of not experiencing hair loss, but I know it's still possible/likely [emoji22]

I personally had minimal Hair loss. I am African American and have always been blessed with extremely thick, long nearly waist length hair. Hair loss was my biggest fear. In my mind my hair was coming out by the handful. When in reality it wasn't. No one noticed. Not even the hair stylist I see bi-weekly. The shedding lasted about 2 months maybe. I faithfully took 10,000 milligrams of Biotin daily and tried to get my Protein in. I'm currently 10 months out. About 120 pounds down total. My hair has completely bounced back plus some. A childhood neighbor had the sleeve 6 months prior to my rny. She had to literally shave her head. This completely freaked me out. According to my sister I didn't loose any because we have good hair genes.LOL. I say it was a lot of prayer and hair treatments. Aside from the biotin I looked on you tube and made all kinds of protein concoctions weekly. I also added Vitamin e oil to my conditioner. Good luck!!!

OMG Girl, me too..... My Dr told me there is nothing we can do about it....I am in mourning, but I refuse to cut it. I just got a halo hair extension and am wearing it. I am trying Keranique and a Biotin spray and Shampoo I got at Sally Beauty. Plus I up'd my Biotin to 1000mg/day along with a multi Vitamin. My surgeon and my PCP told me it has nothing to do with Protein. Your body goes into suspension during surgery. It is just part of the process (said by people who are not losing their hair)

Update on my massive hair loss.....7 months post surgery and the Hair loss has stopped!! THANK GOD. It started about 3 months post surgery. I was losing hair like I was on chemo. Was taking Multi Vitamins, 10,000mg of Biotin and using Biotin spray on my scalp and somehow, the combination of this all worked. My hair is growing like mad now :) I told my surgeon that they really need to be more vocal to pre surgery patients that this is one of the post surgery side affects for some patients.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
