Back at the Gym!

Recommended Posts

It felt great to get out today and renew my gym membership it's just 25 a month! Getting my sweat on has been a go-to stress reliever for me for a long time, now I just need to not overdo it...oh look at all the shiny weights! I'm day 48 out and feel great.

Good job. Working out is great for you over the long term. Yes, take your time, and ease into it. Before you know it, you will start developing muscle definition everywhere.

Good luck!

I find that more often than not, I don't have the motivation to go to the gym when things are hectic - especially cardio days . However, I have been going long enough that it is habit. So I go even though I don't really want to be there. I always feel better when I leave though.

I force myself to go. I'm 2 months post-op and just started going back 2 weeks ago. I'm easing into my routine and just sticking with cardio machines. I will eventually get back to running up 150 flights of stairs while carrying 15 pound dumbells but until i get there again I'm going to pout and dread it. Your right on feeling better after working out, I do feel better and so happy my ass is outta there too!

Went to the gym for the first time post-op (almost 4 months). I've lost strength -- lots of it. But working out felt good. I went for a swim after and found that being significantly smaller makes swimming easier (also my swim goggles fit much better on my thinner face).

ugh, depression is so awful, my meds are being adjusted and it's been painful to even get to the gym, say less get out of bed. I am forcing myself to go, when I usually feel that afterglow for 3 hours after a workout, now it's just one hour. blah, this too will pass.

(sigh) my antidepressants haven't been metabolizing even after I workout I usually have an afterglow, but it's just 'meh' now...I'm working with my doc on dosage it's a time released antidepressant now I take one in the morning per usual and one midday to try and get up to the 60 mg I was at pre sleeve...I hate this, dragging my butt to the gym and sweating my rear end off, without the high after sucks

My strength is coming back. Today I did incline dumbbell presses with 45 pound dumbbells -- still less than before but quite a bit better than just two weeks ago. Still can't do squats very well -- I'm doing trap bar deadlifts instead (a great exercise BTW).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
