I wish my insurance would pay, but at least there were no hoops for me to jump through being private pay. I decided in December to have surgery and it was booked the same day I asked, and now surgery is today. It's scary how easy it was but I am very confident in my surgeons skills, and I know I need this to be healthy. In hindsight I almost wish I had those hoops to jump through because I'm kind of regretting not being more prepared for it. I'm a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of person apparently.

I had my sleeve surgery on January 3rd. I am home now and feeling pretty good. I started my shakes and Vitamins, slowly. Just a bit sore, but no worse than when I had gallbladder surgery. I am not hungry, which is great. I am drinking slowly. And walking around the house a few minutes every hour. I'm on my way😇

Good luck everyone.

I had my surgery 2 days ago. All went well. Dr said it was difficult due to excessive scar tissue from prior surgery, but really i am feeling great other than nausea. Getting discharged shortly. I swear my shirt is already looser on me. Nice!

Congratulations. I had my surgery on the 3rd. I am already trying no pain meds today. And no nausea meds. Just drinking slowly, taking Vitamins. I cameout of hospital weighing 13 lbs heavier because of the gasses and fluids. I am down 11 lbs now and feeling better. Remember, it gets better everyday.

Having got off to a bad start, the last few days of my preop diet have been much easier. Hope everyone else is finding that it gets easier with time too xx

I wont have access to a scale again until i fly home on the 10th, probably a good thing since im sure i have swelling and fluids from the IV still. I feel like i should be in pain, but hardly none. This is wonderful. I'm so relieved since my healh insurance will not pay for anything obesity related or complications from surgery. It sounds like youre doing equally well, and that is awesome to read.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
