Tennessee Lap Banders

Just want to see where in Tennessee you are from? Who is your doctor? What hospital did you have your surgery at?

ME: I live in Lebanon, TN which is about 30 miles East of Nashville. Dr Charles Morton at Baptist Hospital did my surgery.

Kim you aren't that far from me! I live in Lynchburg. I have friends in Shelbyville, and we go to Duck River during racing season. Congrats on your great weight loss. I hope that I can achieve that by this time next year. I want to loose 120-150lbs. I start the liquid only week long diet tommorow and I am dreading it. I think my mind is saying I'm not "chewing" so I'm not eating, but I've had 45 grams of protein today and 80oz of water.

Happy New Year

Felicia

i live near Knoxville TN. My doc was Dr. Michael Hodge with Johnson City Surgical group of Johnson City,TN. My surgery was on 11/27/07 and my first fill wil be 01/23/08. Good luck everyone!

I am from Wayne County,TN/Florence, Al. I am also going to Dr. Morton at Baptist Medical. Though I havent met with him yet i am very excited to... How good of a doctor is he? Afraid i dont know much about him...What can I expect?

He is a great doctor, really nice and down to earth. I go to nursing school with some girls from Wayne County. The surgery isnt bad and it is oh so worth it. Doctor Morton is really easy to talk to and will spend time explaining things , good luck!

Thanks Alot! I have another question for you .... after your insurance was approved what did you go through leading up to the surgury and how long did it take.... They said they would contact me monday about my insurance and i was looking sometime in Feb. for my surgery... Would that be an accurate time frame? Or does it take longer?

Hi nayray :)

Dr Hodge is totally awesome!! Of the 2 in that office, you have chosen the right one. Wouldn't give you a plug nickle for the other one. I am an RN and work with these guys so not only am I a patient, but I am also a co-worker of them. Needless to say, I get the inside scoop for sure:biggrin:

Good luck and email me or pm me if you need to. I would be glad to talk to you more.

I really like Dr. Hodge. I have been treated well and recieved good care. My second fill will be in March. I feel like I have a chance now that I have the band.

After I was approved it wasnt long at all, sorry it took so long to answer I just saw this, I had to see the psychiatrist and get his answer back and do the blood work and I had it, it was alot faster than I expected. That time frame seems right it was no time after I got approved. Congratulations! I know it seems like forever to get the approval . Oh yeah I had to do the liquid diet I forgot about that, it used to be 2 weeks but I have heard he only requires a week now, dont know that for sure but that is what I heard. Good luck !

Hey... thats perfectly fine... thanks alot for replying... That is what i was thinking. I cant wait to get it done and i was hoping that it would be this month... thanks a lot!

Hi Kimlilstang! I live in Murfreesboro and my surgeon is Dr. Eckles...

I'm in my 6 month pre-op program (required by insurance) right now. Any recommendations or heads up you can give me about the band? Dr. Eckles, living in M'boro?? I've been looking for someone around here that may be able to give me some insight!

Hi! I was banded by Dr. Morton. He's fabulous.

It's natural to be nervous, but it will be fine really.

I had my band done five years ago and lost 110 lbs.

but then I slacked off and regained 15. I'm getting the first fill I've had in years in Feb. I feel badly that I've not appreciated the band as it really did change my outlook and how I feel so much.

You'll do great! Looking forward to hearing more about your journey. Holly
