  2. If you didn't already know these things you didn't do much research. Any surgery is risky, Doctors are human, there can be nicks and complications. That is the risk you take, nothing in life is considered to be perfectly safe. It is her job to keep you informed, so people won't have something happen and sue saying "No one ever told me this could happen". Give nurses a break they are there to help you, sounds to me like she was doing just that. If that upsets you maybe you are not ready to do it. To me the surgery was the easiest part of this journey it is no picnic, and yes I am a nurse.

  4. You have no restriction yet, but the reason for the mushies and all is to let your stomach heal and the stitches to adhere, I am not here to preach but don't screw up all you have been through to test things out, you are not ready yet let your stomach heal and don't risk making yourself sick and messing up all the surgery you have worked so hard to get. Good luck in your journey!
  5. If I am stressed I will tighten up and I can't hold down anything solid.
  6. I wouldn't do it, you miss and you're messed up, hit the tube , not worth it to me and my insurance won't cover fills and I am a nurse, use needles all day long. Just my 2 cents.
  7. If you ever figure out how to fix head hunger let me know, I struggle with it everyday, my mind still tells me I haven't had enough when I have made myself sick eating. It is the worst thing ever and I know what you are going thru.
  8. spaghetti , homemade spaghetti sauce , grew the tomatoes and all,lol real parmesan cheese grated on top. I know noodles are bad but hey sometimes you just gotta say......u know
  9. I had a slight unfill and it has been wonderful I can sleep and the acid in my stomach has been cut in half, I can actually eat meat in moderation something that had been making me sick everytime, go for the unfill, you will be glad you did. :thumbup:
  10. When I was first banded I used to get really mad really easy, I remember a co worker who got tired of me fussin she yelled out "Somebody get her a sandwich!!" I had to crack-up it was then I realized that food had been my life and I lost my friend, it was awhile before I got better but I did when I started feeling better losing weight.:biggrin:
  11. TOM makes a huge difference to me, I can hardly eat , its really bad in the morning.
  12. It has happened to me with every surgery but not to the extent it did with the lap band but as I said my personal opinion is shock to the system from all things involved in it. But whatever the reason my hair is back.:thumbdown:
  13. I am 3 years out I lost alot of hair at first but it stops my hair is thicker than ever now, it does come back. My feeling is your body is in shock and I do think there is something to the anesthesia theory, but whatever the reason it does stop.:thumbdown:
  14. :thumbup::thumbup::mad: Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. 1. I want to wear scrubs that fit good not look so frumpy. 2. I want to feel like just one of the nurses not the fat nurse. 3. Be able to tuck in my shirt.
  16. I think ice cream is EVIL,lol. I sit in the den and I hear it from the freezer calling my name. I just had to stop buying it or I could eat myself sick with it. It is just so easy to eat and you feel like you dont have a band for a little while. Sort of a rebellion thing I think.
