Hi I have a question. I had my surgery on Oct 16 and that week I lost 8 pounds but this week I didn’t loose any pound and I am still in my liquid diet not cheating and doing everything single thing that doctor told me. Did somebody know what could happen???

I was sleeved on 10/11/17. From what I’ve seen, some people race out of the gate, some don’t. The three things that speed of weight loss is based on are: gender, age and height. If you are a tall young man, you’ll lose weight like it’s just melting. If you are a short older woman (the best kind!) you will lose weight slower. It’s a life change, so you’ll have some more time! Just get healed up, drink your liquids, get in some Protein, and trust (pray?). That sucks, but I bet you’ll be back on the boards in no time with a lot of success. Good Luck!

It can actually take a month or two to start seeing loss my surgeon told me. Since the swelling and healing time is different for everyone. He said just be patient before you know it the weight will be melting off. He also said steady not to slow and not to fast weight loss is best because really rapid loss can endure unnecessary complications. I had the Duodenal Switch on 10/23/17 and have lost about two pounds. I was 467 on surgery day and am now 465. It will come off just give your body time to adjust. Remember since theres no real food going in the body may be in starvation mode where it saves fats. My friend who did the ds reminded me of that. She said her first two months were discouraging but by month six she realized she was 40lbs to her goal weight and could fit her sons teenage sons shirts. She said because she feels big she never noticed. So now I know to wait six months and to start trying to view myself without my fat goggles. Good luck!👍🏽🍀 ❤️💯🙌🏽

I have also read from many many people about the two or three week stull. Many don’t lose their second or third week post op but then it starts right back up again. You’re in the healing process. It will take time.

I had my sleeve done on 10/23. I'm 5 days out and I went from 299.5 to 301.2.. It's confusing. I don't know how I gained a pound... But I do know I'm not pooping like I use to - so maybe I'm full of ****? LOL My employees would love to hear that. I'm holding out, clothes are fitting better, and right before the surgery, I have had a stall.

Things that'll sped up a stall - increased Water, increased exercise, and I've read increased calories (gets you out of starvation mode).

Anyways, I've lost weight without surgery in the past, stalls happen and are natural.

This also depends on other things. I have PCOS, and I'm stalled again and I'm 8 weeks out. I stall more often than most. I've been at 209 for 2 weeks. But, I'll start losing again. I just have to believe it will and stop getting on the scale. Doctor says I need to lose 20 more lbs by Dec. 7. But, the good thing is I'm losing inches while I stall. I wear an XL shirt. And 16W pants. 14 dress.

I used to wear a 3x shirt. 3x pants size 24 pants

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
