Noodles taste like paste. I used to love getting Shanghai noodles. And french fries taste like cardboard.

Had surgery today. So far Jello and juice tastes the same. Let’s see how the shakes taste tomorrow, considering I usually like shakes.

My taste buds have changed too. Everything tastes bland, like all the flavour has gone. Hope it comes back eventually.

I no longer desire sweet things, which I suppose is good! I'm almost 6 weeks past my surgery, so who knows if this taste preference will come back eventually. I also have always loved spice in my food but am avoiding it religiously now. Even too much black pepper is noticeable. I think my tastes are becoming tied to how well my new gastric sleeve tolerates it. If my stomach isn't happy, I begin to associate a distaste with whatever food is causing that. Unfortunately, at this point in the process, a LOT of foods are causing distress. I'm trying to be calm and hope it all settles down and eventually I can sample more foods with less worry about that.

I've never had a sweet tooth, but now any sweetener at all tastes way too sweet. I use one crystal light packet for about 4 bottles of Water. unfortunately plain water just doesn't go down very well at this stage.

I thought it was just me with the fewnch fries. I ate one from several different restaurants and almost gagged.

I'm a little over 3 years out and some tastes have changed. French fries I can rest a very few so I just don't eat them really. pizza I don't like as much and had to be thin and crispy crust. I am so tired of pain Water so I get those sugar free flavorings you dump into the water bottles. I used to love good coffee but now it kills my stomach so I drink it very rarely. Also some spicy foods make me salivate a lot and I feel sick and sometimes vomit. I guess as far as real changes in taste, I don't think anything for me changed. After a few years I think you'll maybe add some things back in moderation. Just make sure you don't slide back into bad habits and start gaining weight back.

Mine have been relatively minor, but kind of numerous. I'm apathetic to most meats now, and I love fish. I used to hate lemon in my tea and the taste of coffee, now I love both. I used to like a bit of heat, now I love spicy. I liked the chocolate, caramel, and vanilla Premier Protein shakes before, now I only like the caramel and barely tolerate the chocolate. The mio-type drink flavorings all taste terrible to me now, as do most of the diet drinks I've tried. Most baked goods hold absolutely no appeal to me now, whereas they used to be my favorite sweet. I still love dark chocolate, greens, fruit, cheese, and olives. I'm really looking forward to raw veggies and popcorn, although I know I need to be careful with the last, lol.

I now hate french fries. I loved them in the past. I also hate eggs now. I can do egg whites but not the yolk. When the yolk touches my tongue I immediately get nauseas. I never was a big sweet eater. I would eat cake if it was around. Now I have no desire to eat it. Even when my hubby brings home cup cakes I don't eat it. Premier shakes now taste horrible. My stomach can not tolerate nuts. They cause me physical pain. I no longer eat pizza or bread. I just have no interest in it. Right now nothing tastes good. I pretty much live off of cheese and chicken.< br>

For me, it's aftertaste where my issue has been these last 7 weeks. I'm much more aware of aftertaste...like with different waters, etc. My tastes haven't changed otherwise, but I do find that while I adore Greek Yogurt, sometimes just the thought of yogurt now makes me go NOPE. Maybe it's the thicker texture, not sure. Hope that passes soon, miss having it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
