whitmac reacted to momof3_angels in No more weight loss ???You look great! The last ones are sometimes the hardest to lose! Just keep doing what you are doing. Track your meals for a bit, if you haven't been doing it regularly. It is a good way to see if you are really still on track with your eating habits. Sometimes we think we are eating better than we really are - and if it turns out you are eating more than you should be you can adjust if needed. If you haven't already, upping your exercise routine might help too. Of course, it may be simply that you are doing everything right but your body isn't ready to drop that last bit of weight. And I wouldn't stress about the number so much... how do you FEEL? Do you feel good at this weight?

whitmac reacted to Creekimp13 in No more weight loss ???You look amazing. If your health is good, I wouldn't bother. Ask yourself....as a permenant lifelong commitment...What net benefit in your life would be brought by losing those 30 pounds? What amount of flexability will you have to give up?
I would stick to a healthy eating plan, and keep working out if you enjoy it. Maybe consult a trainer about strength training that targets the areas you'd like to refine.
If you MUST lose X number of pounds for X goal....be patient. Once you're at a certain point, you're gonna lose a LOT slower. Sometimes half a pound a week is a victory when you get small. Stay consistent. Part of losing weight to the tiny sizes and numbers...is restricting calories more and more.
There's a point where the flexability and livability a few more calories give you....outweighs the next size down.
Make your lifetime habit sustainable.

whitmac reacted to catwoman7 in No more weight loss ???those last 20 lbs or so are a BEAR to lose! The last few months I was only losing about 2 lb a month, so it took FOREVER to get them off. But even for people who've never had weight loss surgery, losing 10 or 20 or even 30 lbs when you're close to a normal BMI is SUPER hard. Before I had surgery, I used to listen to women at Weight Watchers who were like 10 or 20 lbs overweight b***ch and scream and complain about how hard it was to lose 10 or 20 lbs. I used to roll my eyes whenever I heard them. Yea...right...try losing 100+ lbs. But now I totally get it... It can be done, but it's tough. Just keep working at it (that is, if you want to - like Creekimp said, if you're happy where you're at and it's comfortable maintaining your weight at that level (because the lower you go, the harder it is to maintain it), then there's nothing wrong with staying where you're at, either...)

whitmac got a reaction from SummerTimeGirl in No more weight loss ???Had gbp 2019... over 18 months I was able to lose 100 pounds. Since loosing the initial 100 lbs I still have approximately 30lbs to lose. But it's not budging. I carry all my weight in midsection. I think the last weight i need to met is my stomach. I work out and eat healthy. Any tips on how to loose that last 30lbs?
All suggestions are appreciated.

whitmac reacted to Tim C in High Abdobmen FatWell I hven't even hit 1 month surgery date but everytime I look in the mirror I am still fat!
It will be several months before I get to where I can see I am losing weight. I have lost over 36 lbs and that was like taking a cup of water out of the Gulf of Mexico. I cant tell I have lost a pound.

whitmac reacted to SummerTimeGirl in High Abdobmen FatUgh, I hear that! Aside from my stomach being big all around, right under my left breast is like a pouch of fat that sticks out further than the part of my stomach under my right breast. Last time I lost 40lbs I felt like it was possibly shrinking but not too sure. I HATE THAT POUCH and worry that it won't go away once I have my surgery done. I feel like that area may eventually need lipo.
I'm basing that off of a surgery I saw on TV. The person had some sort of fat pouch on their *ss (mush like my pouch) that they thought was a lipoma or something but ended up the fat just poofed out in that area and she was told it would never just go down/away no matter how much weight she lost or exercises she did so they ended up sucking out a great deal of it. Hope that doesn't need to happen but who knows.

whitmac reacted to BigSue in High Abdobmen FatYeah, I've lost 180 pounds and I still have a big belly. It's not just loose skin -- there's definitely still some fat in there that does not want to go away. I'm having a hard time figuring out the right size of clothing to buy because if I go by my actual waist measurement around the middle of my belly, everything is too big. And I don't leave the house without wearing a shaping cami.

whitmac reacted to catwoman7 in High Abdobmen Fatpeople don't lose fat evenly - they'll notice less fat in some places long before they'll notice it in others. I'd give it more time..

whitmac reacted to Tim C in High Abdobmen FatI have this high abdobmen fat between my belly and my chest. Most or many men have this when overweight. It seems like a fat retention pond. While I can already see my belly getting smaller this high adobmen fat seems like it has not gotten any smaller even though I have lost 35 pounds or about 12% of my high body weight. It doesn't want to leave me!!

whitmac reacted to Darktowerdream in Body dysmorhia is a bitthhhsssssI struggled with my weight so much of my life that I wasn't a healthy weight for my height since I was probably 9 or 10 which is kind of when thing should went south anyway. I was sick from when I was a baby but things changed then.
Of course hitting puberty didn't help. I got bullied growing up including my sister. And things I don't discuss on public forums.
But I will say body dismorphia is a tough one. Especially when you never knew where you fit and never really did fit in anywhere. Or never perceived myself as anything but the fat kid. Or ugly kid. Never saw myself as feminine either.
Ive worn clothes I hadn't like dresses. I tried on a bathing suit, but not in public yet. Every moment it's still a struggle of seeing the fat kid, feeling like the fat kid and being afraid to be that again. So getting comments about my weight even someone saying the word skinny it sets something off. I have no pictures but one from my birthday right before my gastric bypass surgery April last year. That's how much I hated pictures. My mom had to beg me to take a picture recently ...
i took a picture of myself in the swimsuit to convince myself I could wear it but it felt weird. Like sharing the pictures I shared here. It's hard to not fear our efforts will be lost. And it's a continuous journey. Though my road is complicated by many things. We try to prop each other up the best we can.

whitmac reacted to AZhiker in Body dysmorhia is a bitthhhsssssSuch a strange thing. When I was fat, I thought I was actually just a bit overweight. I look at the before pictures now and am horrified at the reality. But after losing weight, it's like there was no gauge to accurately judge what I really did look like. I was always looking to see if the distance between my outside thighs and the edge of the chair was the same as someone else, or comparing myself to others at work who wore the same sized scrubs. I kept trying to give myself more space than needed to squeeze between furniture or other objects. It does pass, but it just takes time. It's like we landed on Mars and have to learn stuff all over again.

whitmac reacted to loridee11 in Body dysmorhia is a bitthhhsssssI 100% understand. I was out walking with a friend yesterday - she's one of my friends who has always been fit - runs marathons, hikes, etc... Mentioned how excited I was about my BMI being almost normal and she indicated her BMI is about the same as mine. for the life of me I cannot see myself as close to her level of fit and thin...

whitmac reacted to NovaLuna in Body dysmorhia is a bitthhhsssssYou look great! I do understand where you're coming from though. We see ourselves in the mirror day in and day out so we don't see the weight loss the same as the people around us do. Often times when I look in the mirror, I see myself a few sizes larger than I am. I'm in a large in shirts and 14 in pants, but what I see in the mirror is someone who is at least a 2x in shirts and a 20 in pants. So my mind and reality mess with me. It's funny though that when I pass shop windows as I'm walking into the store or my reflection in something while I'm shopping I sometimes see this much smaller person that everyone else see's but in mirrors at home I still see that bigger version of myself. Body dysmorphia is hard and it really messes with your mind and your self confidence.

whitmac reacted to Ladylove72 in Body dysmorhia is a bitthhhsssssYou look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! You look slender, fit, and toned.
But I 100% understand where you're coming from. In the past, I lost a lot of weight with WW and was still horrified to have my picture taken. I look back on those pictures now and I don't know what I was thinking. I looked great! I'm sure others around me also thought so too. But there's still a part of us that just can't see what others are seeing. We walk around with those fat goggles on and judge ourselves to death, not letting ourselves enjoy a single victory. I learned from that experience, though. I've learned that my self-perception will be faulty, so I should just trust how good I feel inside and what my wonderful body can do, and ignore the self-sabotaging little voice I hear when looking in the mirror. Because that little voice lies.
