I am doing so much better today. I was able to eat two saltine crackers (to liquid consistency) and I got 45 oz of Fluid in yesterday plus all of my medications. So I'm pretty proud of myself. It's rainy here today so I'm going to go walk around the mall and try to feel normal for a bit. Only weird thing is I feel so weak, but I attribute that to lack of food. Pain is being managed with 1000MG of tylenol. I've lost 7 pounds since surgery.

My surgery date was changed from 10/10 to 10/24. Still an October Sleever!

I was supposed to have surgery October 10th, but hit an insurance snag. Problem was, I retired from my job and had to "change over" to the Retired side of the house and part of the normal computer processing is to cancel the insurance before the Retiree insurance kicks in - usually takes 2 weeks. Of course, luck of the Irish, my surgery was scheduled during that two week transition period. Ugh. Only me.

On Oct 12, my new insurance kicked in and back dated to Oct 1. So I called my Surgeon's office and they said to send over the new insurance cards and the surgery will be re scheduled....so just a minor delay. The nice insurance lady at the Surgeon's office called me today {Oct 13) and the new date is Oct 24!!

I was sleeved on 10/10 and got home last night. I had a problem with oxygen when I walked. So they sent me home with some for walking and some oxycodone So for so good. My dr had a wishbone showering my stomach on the inside and it was empty this morning so I just pulled it out. No pain yet. Feeling great.

I had my surgery 10/11 and got to come home today. The first day post op was pretty painful for me with terrible gas pains. Once I got up and was walking more and they change my pain meds it was a whole different ball game though. I went from terrible gas pains to just minor tightness in my stomach and was able to walk around freely. I came home earlier today and ended up sleeping for probably the first 8 hours I was home. I guess my body needed to catch up on all the sleep I couldn’t get in the hospital due to constantly being woken up for one reason or another. All in all the process has not been too bad and I have zero regrets. Now I just need to concentrate on sipping Water all day and getting my food intake up a little. My surgeon did say for the first week though that his number one priority is the Fluid intake and that the eating will progress as time goes on.

So glad that your surgery went well. Drink your fluids and get lots of rest. Look forward to your updates!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
