@@KristenLe could not agree more. After I hand delivered the wrong referral the nice staff woman saw the frustration and took the problem head on. She made some calls. Greased the wheels. Used industry jargon to whomever she was talkong to on the phone. It was nice to see. So as mad as I was, it seems they are going above and beyond to correct this. That was yesterday 5 pm April 13th so not much could be done. I will find out more this morning. They are caling me around 10am with a status update.

So, while there the staff informs me that I need a referral. Why..in the name of all that is holy was I not made aware of this??
If they just would have told me, I couls have taken care of it. Grrr
So, I called my PCP and since I have not seen him in 6 years, he is no longer my PCP. Double Grrr.
Called the practice and now have an appoint for today in little less then an hour with a new PCP. Hope he can give me the referral I need so then I can drop it off before the Bariatics staff goes home tonight. I don't want today not to count towards my 4 month pre op.

Starting the journey on April 13th 8am..I am in the parking lot of my local Bariatrics surgeon office waiting for it to open. Today is the initial seminar. Today is the beginning of my journey. Will insurance cover? Will I have 6 month waiting period? Stay tuned...

So, now that it is real, I am starting to get a bit nervous. Suddenly, "if I do this" has become "when I do this". Starting to feel like I should be counting down how many days I have left with my stomach. Like, as if I am going to miss him.

I just eat like a normal human being and stay away from crap. portion control is key first and foremost in my opinion. Secondly is selection of foods for your specific needs and goals. I prefer a higher protein, higher fats lower carbs diet, which works well for my needs. Third most important is DO NOT deprive yourself totally. If you want an occasional treat, have it, just dont over indulge.

Stay away from processed cold cuts, sodas, sucralose and anything with the words Frutcose or corn syrup in it...Also I hate the fact that a lot of these nutritionists push cheeses as a source of protein on their clients. Cheese is high in saturated fat and not worth it as a source of protein in your diet.

A bit nervous

Have not heard from them yet. But then again it is 9:30am and they open at 9am. Lol..can ya tell I am a bit anxious?

Still dropping a few lbs..Down to 221 this morning. These are the most recent, from a 47" waist to a 34/36" waist.

I am 8 years post op Gastric Bypass and still maintaining my 170 pound weight loss! You can succeed, it’s a life change. The first pic is me 5 days before my surgery and the second pic is during a commercial I was in for my doctors office in April 2010. I lost a lot of weight, very fast! The first 6 months most of it was gone!

I'm 8 months post-op. I'm 109lbs. down.
HW: 334
SW: 324
CW: 215
GW: 180

Update: 12/1/17: Weight: 220.. down from 260 for a total of 40 pounds lost. Thanksgiving was...interesting. I ate some turkey and stuffing and mash potatoes, but what was different was I ate very little of it and felt full much quicker. I feel as if I didn't miss out on anything. I had a tiny sliver of pie and could not even finish it.

Dr. Kwon is very mild mannered, matter of fact kind of guy. He is awesome and my surgery went very well.

@Killian - I'm having my meet and greet with Dr. Kwon today! I'm so excited!
Today I have psych evaluation, nutritionist, and meet Dr. Kwon. I finished all the other pre-requisites.
