Hair loss--anyt tips?
I am very happy with my progress. I am 5'10" and I am down to 179....I have lost 84 lbs in 7 months...which is pretty awesome. However, I have some hair thinning. Luckiy, I started with very overly- thick wavy/curly/somewhat frizzy hair. Now, it is thinning, and looks fairly normal, only because I had way too much hair to begin with. It is pretty dry & frizzy, mostly the ponytail and ends (I have past the shoulder lentht hair) What has anyone found that helps this? I have read that after 6 mos or so it should start to come back? I really don't think it is super noticeable, I am hoping the fact that my whole face and body have changed takes away the noticeability that I used to have full, crazy thick hair (think 1980's rocker-hair bands!) and now it is more like a regular/slightly thin look....but yeah, dry and frizzy. i really notice it when shampooing, it feels like I have hardly any hair! Any tips?

This is one of the best decisions I have ever made. i am no longer a prisoner to food, my appetite, all of it. I had mine done end of October, I am now down 83 lbs. I am fiting into shorts from years ago, into dresses and shirts and everything...it is amazing. I am fitter, more energy, I am just so very glad I did this. Of course, everyone has to evaluate their own fears/choices/etc. But am I glad I did the VSG? Yes, i wish I did this 10 yrs ago. Also, people are opinionated and like to try to push it on others...this is why I did not tell my co-workers or really anyone except my kids and my partner. I didn't want to hear all the comments and opinions etc.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
I am so impresed with everyone's progress! I have been following a lot of Dr Weiner's videos on youtube, and I am trying to think Veggie first....but veggies fill me up so fast. I am pretty happy with my progress....and.....very happy to say that for the first time in many years I am under 200 lbs! I am 198 as of today!! So total loss of 65 lbs. I had surgery at the end of October, I lost 10 lbs in the 2 pre-op weeks. My goal is 175-180 ( I am just a sliver under 5'10" tall) so i think this is a decent goal for me.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
Oh, I didn't mean to lose 20-25 by March first, I meant like 2-3-4 pounds.......just getting the scale moving again. I'd like to be 195-198 by St Patty's Day, and I will absolutely allowing myself a drink that night!

Testing to see if my ticker will show up. Also, time for true confessions: I have been dipping slighlty into a few cookies and M&M's, ever since the Superbowl (yay EAGLES !!!) and that stops today, I do not want to fall back into bad habits. It has been pretty minimal, but, still a slipperly slope. I need to refocus, and do my Proten and Veg meals, with minimal carbs. I always do my protein shake with almond milk and a bit of skim milk every morning. I need to stay the course!

How normal is this?
You look great!! I know the feeling, I still wear some bigger clothing, at times, I feel like I still should be in them....until my Mom, my daughters and friends tell me things like: "umm, those pants are too big"..."you should think about gettting a new smaller coat'...etc. Time to shop! Congrats on your success, be Happy and Proud!!

You look great! ...and those baby blues, too....Keep on going, you will break through the plateau. I know the frustration. I have also lost 60 lbs. Which is great, but I need to keep on losing. One thing that I find very motiviating is that my dress pants for work are all too loose, and I am fitting into smaller sizes that were stored in a closet. Also, my scrubs are way too loose, I need to shop for some more. I was land-locked at 223-226 for a long time, now I am hovering at 201-202 forrevverrrrrr. But I am determined. I am 5'10" and my goal is 170. One day at a time. I am sporadic with exercise, I need more consistency in that area. Also, water drinking. So let's make a deal, we both exercise 5-6 days a week, and drink a sh*t tom of water daily, and check back in here on March 1, and let's see if that scale might drop a little bit.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
Holy Shite....I have lost 57 lbs since my 1-week-pre-op weight (I count from there, because I dropped a bit that week of pre-op liquids, so I just count from that weight) I have an appt for follow up on Feb 6, my goal is to be under 200 for that appt, and I think I will make it to that wt. The other thing I need to do is get more exercise. Getting enough fluids can also be a challenge. But I am getting there bit by bit!! I am so very, very glad I had this procedure. My only issue (non issue really) is that I am one of those who kept this private. My kids and my partner know, no one else. I did this over a break from work and had some work-at-home days and went back fairly quickly. I never told co-workers and I do not want to tell anyone.....but I am wondering if this rapid wt loss is making it obvious that I had something done. When people ask how i lost the weight, I give a part of the truth...I am walking a lot, some light wt lifting, and I eat protein and veggies, very little fruit and no bready carbs, and I drink only water or de-caf tea. No soda, or juice etc. Smaller portions, focusing on protein and veggies. Either way, I am still just so happy I did this!

It's Ok to be pissed....I'm still pissed about my stall too!!

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
I have to laugh all of us, including myself. So impatient, we are! I had a stall that lasted 2 weeks, at 223-225 lbs, now I am at a stall of 214-216 lbs. I know it is frustrating. And, like many of you I have said things like"I have only lost 40 lbs since my surgery" (although I lost 49 from my high 1 week pre-op weight) Anyhooooo......we are all nuts! This surgery is fricken'amazing ! I am not longer a prisoner to food, to a large stomach begging to be filled, to the effect of gherlin pumping out hungry impulses like the Bat-Signal.....I feel very fortunate. I am living life, and food is just fuel, not something i am stuffing my face with every 1-2 hours. When else could any of us, in the past, have complained that we "only" lost 30-35-40 lbs in basically 2 months?!? (give or take a couple weeks). We are all doing very well! My advice is to increase fluids, are you getting the needed 64 ounces a day? (I know I am guilty of rarely getting enough fluids) Are you skipping the crackers, the bread, the cereal and doing protein first then veggies? I know I try but sometimes am not perfect. If we continue to try to stick to these guidelines as best as possible, the weight will continue to drop. I know I am dying to get down to 175-185 ish.... I will honestly be thrilled just to be under 200lbs. And I will get there. Maybe not in a week, or a month, or a few months....but I will meet my goals...and so will you! Stay strong and stay positive! We are all losing a bunch of fat!! Just keep moving forward!

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
I was sleeved 10/26.....I am down 48 lbs as of today! I was in a stall for a couple weeks, floating between 221-224 for days. Then , the dropping started again. I need to lose just 6 more lbs to go from Obese BMI to Overweight BMI. Then, 33 more lbs off, and I will be "Normal BMI". I am so glad I did this! I get fully pretty quick, if I eat a couple bites too much, it is an uncomfortable, achy heaviness....which reminds me why I should quit eating before getting to that point. I need to increase water/fluids, but since I cannot chug water, or drink after eating, I am finding fluids to be a challenge. I do try to sip all day.
