4 days post-op and barely drinking

Recommended Posts

That's not enough, Water should pass right through. Maybe you just don't want to drink, it happens...some people get so turned off everything they just don't want to drink.

this is dangerous! If you don't get enough liquids you will get dehydrated and will end up back in the hospital. Are you counting all of your liquids including Protein Shakes and Jello, etc?

I'm struggling too. Hoping to get more in today than yeasterday. Yesterday was day one post sleeve and I only got 16 oz down.

today I've done 8 oz so far plus 3 oz Bone Broth plus almost half of my Protein Drink which is powder mixed only with Water.

I was told to target 40 - 60oz fluids in the first week. By week two, I needed to be consistently getting 60oz. If you don't dramatically increase the intake tomorrow, call the doctor...dehydration is dangerous.

My NUT says 64 oz. is the goal (including Protein shakes), but 40 oz. will keep you out of the hospital.

Warm tea went down easiest the first week for me. Maybe try making some herbal tea.. just be extra certain it isn't the least bit too hot. Don't want to scald your baby tummy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
