It was probably three or four days after surgery before I was able to go. It's been nearly three years since surgery & things have definitely gotten better. Good luck!

My doctor said to do whatever I needed to so I can go. I had to do 2 Colace in the am and 2 in the pm, and Miralax at night.

I was 9 days before Inreally had a decent BM, if you know what i mean. I had to take a mild laxative to get things rolling. Miralax did nothing for me.

I recently started taking Probiotics on the advice of @Newme17 and that has really helped to keep me regular.

At the advice of the surgeon, I took MOM four days after surgery.

Probiotics has kept me regular too. 😁

Day 6 for a rabbit pellet and day 8 for normal. I was not to concerned. No pain or cramping, needed narcotics to get out of my body, and oh yah that was no good for days. Imho, unless your hurting don't worry to much, it will all work its way out in the end.

7 days . After 5 days of nothing, I started Miralax. 2 days later still nothing so I took Milk of Magnesia. Few hours later I went! My belly was so happy and not as bloated lol

You all have to remember. For the first few days all you can basically get down is a little Water, Protein Drink or broth. there isn't a bunch of substance in there to create a movement. It was 4 days before I had one. I am out post op 3 weeks and on average I can have 1 very small one a day or a little bigger one every other day. Just depends on how much I get down. I am on pureed foods for almost a week so I am starting to get a little more consistent substance. Hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
