HI! I'm new to this website. Just stumbled across it. My husband and I approved and waiting our test dates and surgery dates! We are looking for a Protein Powder called Myocel that we need to take. I have not found it anywhere yet. Can someone help? I thought I could just order it online?

May God Bless everyone in 2010! God is GREAT!

Sorry I missed your post, Debbie! Did you try searching online for Myocel?? Amazon is a good place to get stuff like that. In my early stages I used E.A.S. Protein which I got at costco. But, of course that is a great big bag... I never did use it all, but with two of you, you probably would. Most doctors kind of discourage the use of Protein drinks after about the first 6 weeks because they want you to be eating "hard" protein. It keeps you feeling full longer. But, every time you have an adjustment, they usually want you back on liquids for a day.

Just wanted to drop in and say hello!!

Hello, TN girl! Welcome to both of you.

Just wanted to encourage everyone about to get a band. I've had mine since June 18 and have lost 67 lbs and am 3 lbs from goal. Going in for one more fill in the band on Feb. 2. I'm now a very happy 5'9" 170 lb woman who fits in size 12's and larges which I never thought I'd see again. I'm off almost all meds and supplements and walk 30 min to an hour each day. I've incorporated climbing stairs at school into my before school walk so I've got some good aerobic and muscle strengthening weight bearing stuff going on.

I'm going to be checking this thread more often. Hope you all post frequently.

I also have a blog started last June where I journal about dealing with all the head and heart issues that accompany food addiction. You can find it at: IF YOUR STOMACH OFFENDS YOU, TIE IT OFF

If you're just starting out you may want to begin at the beginning. I talk a lot about my fears of judgement by other Christians and so on. Not many posters on this thread and I'd love to hear from more of you.

I was banded 5 Feb 2010. As of 7 may, I've lost 38 pounds. I wasn't 100 pounds overweight, but my diabetes and hbp were determining factors. I don't regret for one moment having had the surgery. Right now, though, I'm having moments of feeling like I'm reverting to old eating habits. I'm an emotional eater. Please pray for me.

I will be praying for you. Emotional eating has something behind it so turn that over to Him and let Him carry whatever is bothering you.

Hello, My name is Teri and I am so excited to find this group! I was banded 62 days ago. I have lost 32 pounds but I am starting to have problems. I can feel myself falling into old habits. Grazing, eating b/c I am bored or most of all to cover up hurt feelings. I am trying to give this to God but I am struggling. I am also back to focussing on food instead of God. If anyone would please pray for me I would appreciate it so much. No one at my Church understands why I got the Lap Band in the first place, so they have a hard time supporting me.

Thank you so much, and may God Bless all of us on this journey!

God bless you and keep you. I know its hard. I blogged through my weight loss period and it really helped me express my feelings safely and tackle a lot of the reasons I eat. I kind of lost interest once I reached my goal, but I do post on this and other threads to help me stay on track. Reach out. Don't eat your feelings. Find a safe way to express them and talk them out.

You may have to do some confronting of others and take control of your own happiness, which can mean ignoring people who are used to manipulating you and letting what they say go in one ear and out the other. Sometimes you have to minimize contact with them. God wants you to be healthy and to put him first--not those who demand your attention. That includes husbands and kids and parents and siblings.

That doesn't mean you stop caring for them. But it does mean you stop listening to them and start listening to God. And that you can't fix them. If their demands on you are making you sick emotionally, you learn to pick and choose what you can do for them. Learning to say, "No, I love you but right now I can't do that," and learning to walk away from arguments is one of the things that has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally.

All of this happens in baby steps, just like taking off the weight. As I shed the lbs., I also shed the expectations of others. I pick and choose the help I can give people. I think I actually accomplish more, now, because I do the things that I'm good at instead of the things they think I should be good at. Instead of disappointing others with my inadequacy at things they are learning to respect me for what I excel at. That's a good trade.

As always, with my advice and anyone else's, take what you like and leave the rest.

Cheri

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
