ADD medication after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I have surgery in exactly a week. I am ADD and have been on medication for it since I was a little girl. no one can really seem to give me a good answer about medication after surgery? I was taking 2 30 mg XR tablets but know that's too big for after surgery so I switched to instants which are still a little big? Did any one have this problem? How long after surgery did you start taking medicine again?

I was cleared to take all my medications after a week. They did say I may have to crush or split some, which were ok for my meds. But I ended up not having to. Just took then slowly, one at a time. I'm 2 mo out and more I can take 4 at a time. Good luck!

I take Adderall, and have been wondering the same thing. I already do the instant release, I am assuming I will have to crush them for awhile. My surgery is on Monday, I will let you know what I hear after that.

I was able and doc said it was OK to take pills after surgery,as long as there not to big, and able to swallow with little sips of Water, if taking pill scares you sometimes there is a liquid form for medications

I take Xr meds for adhd. I'm 3 weeks out from surgery. My doctor just has me open the capsules and swallow the beads or mix them in with a teaspoon of yougurt. He says it's how little kids sometimes has to take them. If you have instant release just chew them up or crush them

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
