Thank you! Surgery is the 26th, I am so nervous!

I also had to do 6 month dr monitored diet. My brother died at the end of the 2nd month and I gained several pounds through grief eating. I eventually started to lose again, but had only lost a total of 6 pounds by the time it was submitted to insurance, and I was approved.

That's my surgery date as well!

Today is day 11 of 14 for me. I am only supposed to have 3-4 protein shakes, water, broth, sugar free jello or sugar free posicles. I have to admit that I have eaten steamed cauliflower a couple of times. I have not added any fat to it. Do you think this will hurt anything or cause them to not do the surgery?

I take Adderall, and have been wondering the same thing. I already do the instant release, I am assuming I will have to crush them for awhile. My surgery is on Monday, I will let you know what I hear after that.

Hi All, I just wanted to share my experience with Anthem Blue Cross CA. My surgeon submitted the request to them on June 8. I called them on June 13, and it was still pending. On June 15, I looked up my plan documents, which clearly stated they have 5 business days to make a decision. So, I called them around 10AM on June 15. They stated it was still pending and that they believed that they had 15 days to make a decision, so I quoted them what my plan documents state, and gave them the page number it was on. They stated they would let the reviewer know, and I should call back later that afternoon. I called again about 2:45, and after being on hold for 20 minutes I was informed that it had been approved! Surgery is June 26! Moral of the story, read the fine print of your insurance documents so you can advocate more effectively for yourself!

Hey all, I am in Eureka, CA but am having my surgery at UCSF. I have a tentative surgery date for 6/26, pending insurance etc. Would love a buddy or mentor to talk with about the process. Doesn't need to be in person, over email or text would work. Thanks!
