I have a love hate relationship with stalls. I seem to have then for at least 10-14 days every month, but I am still losing inches either way so it doesn't matter. I hope yours breaks soon.

Nice!

I made it to the gym yesterday. Today I will probably go after work. I've hit a 2 week stall and am trying to break it with increase in exercise but that hasn't helped yet but I will keep the cardio up. The stall has to break some way! Lol

It will break...Don't give up girl.

I'm not but it's tough. I definitely think inches are coming off but it would be nice to see the scale move as well

Can we take a laxative to help with being "backed up"?

I was told to use milk of magnesia. I only used it onc though in the very beginning. I seem to be pretty regular these days.

I actually don't think I eat enough. I usually have a Protein Shake for Breakfast, for lunch I have either a chicken salad or chicken (usually 3 ozs) with cauliflower rice for dinner I usually have a Protein shake cuz I'm not really hungry or I have a cheese stick . So yea I don't think I eat a lot....

I don't think you are either. Maybe to try adding a little something more, maybe a few complex carbs, as these won't make you want to eat more, but give you some good carbs in your body. Have you talked with your nut? Do you have an appt coming up soon too?

youd be surprised about folks adding different foods to their diets and seeing stuff moving. If your inches are going down though, I wouldn't worry too much on the number on the scale. Eventually it'll catch up too.

Yes I'm going to start to increase my calories today and keep my fingers crossed that the scale starts to move.

I really don't know since I haven't had to use them. I'd call your team just to be sure.

Sooo.....Proteinaholic...oh man...if it doesn't get you thinking about health, about the western diet, and how we're so consumed about Protein protein protein, I don't know what will. This book is so interesting!!! I highly recommend everyone to read it. Granted I'm only on the 3rd chapter but I've gotten so much out of it so far. It really makes you think about how obesity, diabetes, high blood pressures, and many other illnesses and diseases are factored from diet. I know this goes against the grain of almost all bariatric programs, nevermind....I want to go on, but I think with tidbits from me (and I will share), if anyone is truly interested, you should get the book. I was afraid it might be a boring like medical book. It is not. It's very easy to read and it's so on point, it's almost ridiculous of how we don't or didn't see it before...but we tend to go with what everyone else says, right? I'm just amazed at how far I've come with being open to the science behind plant based eating. I never thought it'd be me, definitely never thought it'd be my husband!!! Everyday he continues to say how well he feels. It's just amazing.

Read the book!

Good morning y'all. I'm itching to weigh myself but I won't. I love waking up and my stomach is almost flat laying down. Lol. My arms aren't so jiggly anymore, nor are my thighs. I've noticed that it must have been a phase where it gets all jiggly. Things are starting to firm up again, but I still have a good amount of fat to get rid of, so my guess is that I may or may not have a jiggly moment again. We shall see.

My shoes are continually getting smaller. My feet are sliding in them. I don't want to buy any shoes though, not yet.

One thing I haven't tried on, is my wedding ring. I'm almost scared too. I don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't slide on or if it does that it is super tight. I keep telling myself to get it out and try it and end up forgetting. I don't remember what weight I was when I last wore it. I was 155 lbs when I married, so...I'm probably (guessing here) that I'm about 210 maybe? Hopefully less. But anyway, if that, then I'm still 55lbs away. I can't tell any difference in my fingers though, very hard to tell since they've always been small and somewhat average, I guess. They have not ever been bony, I'm trying to say. So, with approximately 55lbs left, would you try on your wedding ring or would just wait?

I think if it was me I would try it. If it doesn't fit then don't worry, you know it will soon enough.

Thank you for sharing what you are learning from the book on Protein consumption. I will read it soon. I have it on my wish list on Amazon. I am doing well with low carb right now, but maybe re-evaluate when i get to maintenance.

My arms are jiggley right now and I never thought they would be because most of my weight was in my belly. I am happy to hear you say it may change.

It is a busy weekend for me getting prepared to leave on Monday for my camping trip. My daughter and grandkids are coming over for dinner tonight so I will be cooking up some arroz con pollo for everyone.

Have a great weekend all!

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
