Ask for a plan from your team. They should give you the lowdown on what you are to eat and when.

Do you have a date for surgery yet or are you just looking into it?

Just saw you had posted elsewhere and that you are post op.

What did your surgeon/NUT say about bread and Pasta?

Hi, feel your pain. Im dying for some penne ala vodka :-(.

Every doc follows a diff nutrition plan. I was allowed toast at phase 3 which i was moved to on my follow up at week 3 post op. I got sleeved, hernia repair and gall bladder removed. S/w ur doc n nut about getting a clear breakdown so u dont mess up your progress n healing process. FYI, i cheated n had a few french fries that made me wish some1 would shoot me n put me out of my misery. Learned quick fast to not jump the gun n follow my damn plan. Lord it was horrible. Good luck.

I was told no bread for now, and I'm 13 weeks post op. My nutritionist said I can have a piece of toast if I want to.

I know that personally, I stay away from toast and Pasta at this point in my weight loss journey, because of the fact that breads and Pasta are high in carbs. I want to make sure that I keep my carbs lower than 45 grams a day, or I can't lose weight.

Pasta s my chryptonite so im steering clear of it. I got rye pumpernickel bread n i can eat just 1 slice. Ive had it like every 3 or 4 days 4 bkfst. My body is slow at tolerating many foods so far so im very thankful for the things that dont make me sick. Good thing is im still on track with weightloss.

Don't give in to the cravings. It takes a long time, but you will get over it. At 2+ years post op, I rarely even think about bread or Pasta anymore. You are better off without it.

I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op. I'm allowed Pasta though I haven't had any yet and toast. I have toast about twice a week. My nut said starches are important and everything in moderation. 2 weeks until I'm cleared for full diet.

I was sleeved in December, I can't have Pasta, bread , or rice for 6 months but truly have no craving for it. I try to stick to 3 meals a day , no Snacks and I make the largest part of the meal Protein. Weight loss have been slow and steady. I've lost 36 lbs. 65 to go.

My nut said the only carbs to have are the natural kind. I am 11 months out and have had one forkful of Pasta. I miss it. Maybe because I'm Italian and grew up with it. Idk. I have no idea who's correct. I just know that I would like a small portion with my Protein every so often. [emoji45]

Hi everyone! I had the sleeve this past January and lost 36 pounds. Its really hard and not easy because I live I NYC and its cold and usually I want a hot meal and pig out. But I keep in mind what I accomplished so far and I want to loose more and I use to have back pain thank god I don't have any more pain. so I maintain my diet with my homemade Soups or can soups and most important Protein Shake I recommend Unjury Protein shake. I was introduced this shake at ny Presbyterian hospital best hospital in. NYC and awesome staff. I hope this information inspire someone and congratulations to all on your journey of success and don't give up we can do it! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
