I had gastric sleeve surgery on January 30th. Can some of you please tell me what your weight loss was the first month following surgery. Please include your starting weight and ideal weight for yourself if you don't mind. I don't have any friends or family that have shared this experience and I have no idea what I should be expecting.

There isn't a general amount, honestly. Some people because of healing, being swollen, etc. don't lose any weight or even gain a few pounds in the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. Every single person is different. I started at 290 on the day of surgery and in the first month lost about 17lbs. I was one of the lucky few who healed up pretty quickly and was back in the gym 2.5 weeks after surgery. I also have a bit more active of a job, so it keeps me moving (usually).

The scale I have access to says I lost 20 pounds the first 10 days after surgery so I wanted to know if that's even possible. I need to get a new scale though because the one I weighed on is ancient.

I'm trying to reply but it doesn't seem to be working out.... [emoji58] The scale in using says I lost 20 pounds the first 10 days after surgery. I don't think that's possible. I just ordered a new scale.

I actually lost 20 pounds in the first week. I was amazed and a little concerned. But everyone's body reacts differently. I slowed down considerably after that. I would say it is possible but not usual. Good luck!

It really does vary between each individual. I weighed more after surgery than I did the morning of simply because of all the fluids I had pumped in me going through recovery.

Weight starting 2 week pre-op diet: 336

Day of surgery: 318

Current (3 weeks post op): 296

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
