Starting Soft foods, suggestions welcomed

Recommended Posts

I'm officially 2 weeks post op and can move on from liquids (thank God????). My surgeon skips puréed because they say essentially it's the same because they're allowing soft/moist Protein and when you chew chew chew it'll be puréed. I'm nervous but happy, any soft foods y'all ate during this stage so I can add variety???

Soft flaky fish, chopped turkey or chicken, cheese and cottage cheese, boiled eggs, thicker scrambled eggs or poached eggs, advocado, thicker Soups, greek yogurt, soft fruits (nothing with seeds in them for this stage). Very soft veg which is not fibrus. Protein drinks and things from Phase 1.

I think thats what I lived on for this stage.

Thank you, I'll definitely try some of that, I unfortunately can't have fruits and veggies yet but I love boiled eggs. Do they have to be soft boiled, or is regular boil fine?

I just noticed you had a DS rather than a sleeve, as I did. It may be best to ask your NUT what they suggest. Have they given you a list of foods allowed in this stage?

Oh yes I did, but my surgeon gives all his patients pretty much the same plan just the timing of introducing foods is different. I do have a plan, but it just lists Proteins I can have rather than like recipes or meal type ideas, so I figured I'd ask about some and then make it according to what I'm allowed at this point.

I loved refried Beans and salsa melted cheese and sour cream for mushy foods. Packs some good Protein with that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
