Hate eating....its uncomfortable...help

Recommended Posts

So i had surgery on 10/4/16 and have already lost 103 lbs. im psyched i really am. Here is the problem. I hate eating. Eating makes me so nervous because when i eat it feels so uncomfortable going down. Like it hurts going down. I take small bites and chew chew chew. Dont drink with food. It sucks. My nutritionist says its my esophagus. That i should focus on some kind of eating. The only way it doesnt bother me is when i stand up and eat or walk and eat. Try having family dinner standing up at the table. Awkward!!! Please help. This is the only bad thing that i have experienced so far. Other than that im extremely pleased.

Hmm, can you sit and drink while you family eats and then eat your meal standing before or after? Is there anything you can eat without discomfort like Soup or puréed? Are you able to get in the nutrients you need or is that a struggle at this point?

Eating is sometimes hard for me too. I try to make sure whatever I eat is "wet" think chicken with mayo, steak with ketchup! It's the easiest way for it to go down! But I'm grateful for it, I eat for pleasure so making it unpleasant for me is a blessing in disguise. Good luck & congrats on the weight loss!!

Oh, but I wanted to add.. I agree, sit with the family and drink, and eat while standing after. Hopefully it is just temporary!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
