For the peeps who were 280-290 PRE OP...

Recommended Posts

I'm 8 weeks post op, 370 the day I started my preop liquid diet, 291 this morning. Losing 100+ pounds is definitely realistic for me, many people have done it using this surgery as a tool. All depends on your numbers and what you're going to put into this journey.

I really hope so! Many things I read said folks can expect to lose 60-70% of their excessive weight, I am really hoping for more.

I had the band for almost 10 years and didn't do so well. Really trying to stay positive about my upcoming sleeve surgery. Good luck to all,

I would be clear that the 'expectation' is 60-70% but there will be many who lose more (just look around this forum) but equally if that's the average and some lose more, then there will be some that lose less. It's really down to you.

Face your 'demons', use it as a tool to help but don't rely on it to do everything. I see this as my 'emergency brake' for life - if I rely on it too much, it will 'wear out' and stop working but if I do my best most of the time, it will kick in when I need it (and I definitely still need it at times as much as I try not to). That may not be scientific but it's my analogy and it seems to be working so far !

Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
