I just need some motivation

Recommended Posts

I'm a week out and I'm feeling so depressed and discouraged. Like no matter what i do this won't work. Like I'll think I'm doing it right but I'm not and nothing will work. I've also been having a very easy time getting everything down so I've mentally convinced myself that my sleeve wasn't made small enough. I'm really just feeling freaked out and upset.

Don't be discouraged... Your body has just been through major surgery and it needs time to heal and recover and I'm sure your sleeve is the perfect size. I actually know a few people that also had an easy time getting liquid down after VSG surgery and they have been very successful with weight loss !!

I went through buyers remorse and was doubting my decision for the first couple of days. I was sleeved on 2/29/16 and this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made !!

Continue to follow your program, stay on track and you will be just fine. You will see the weight drop and be motivated to keep goingTake lots of progress pics too.

Good luck on your journey

I have been recently having the same feelings. I'm coming up on my two week post op appointment. I've been reading all of my paperwork over and over and studying the diet plan just to make sure I don't mess it up. I'm sure this will pass for both of us. Gotta keep our eye on the prize!

I never had any issues getting liquids or mush foods down, relax. I was convinced I was given a placebo surgery. You made a great decision soon you will feel the differences happening, and you will find out as you progress through the stages, that yes, you have a small sleeve, it won't hold much. Water really almost goes right throw, food will be when you feel the restriction, relax and enjoy that things are going great, you are not having any issues, and are having no physical issues. Best of luck

The first couple of weeks are were pretty rough for me, but then things got better day by day. Your body has to make many adjustments and so does your mind. Stay positive and do your part and good things will happen over time...

Hormones are probably playing a part in how you are feeling! Follow your plan - if you do that you can't do it wrong! Don't pay attention to the scale right now - you are swollen and were pumped with fluids - the weight WILL come off! Stay strong!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
