What do you eat for breakfast? I need ideas!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am 1.5 months out from my band and I am loving it. However, I was a diehard Cereal fan and I am attempting to keep as many starches as possible out of my diet until I am at goal when I will slowly reintroduce them (If I even care about them by then).

My surgeon/nutritionist said a meal for Breakfast...not a Protein shake...but I am at a loss.

Is it really healthy to have eggs every day? I've been fluctuating between eggs or yogurt...mostly yogurt--but I don't get a fill until October (because of my insurance) and the yogurt is starting to not satisfy me.

Long story short...would you please give me any Breakfast ideas? Thank you!

Rain

Egg whites are excellent for you. High in Protein and low in calories. I buy them in the container and its like a half of a cup is only 30 calories and no cholesterol. Stay away from the yolks in my opinion. Thats what is bad. If its a color thing then get the egg whites that are yellow for looks.

I make them and add a slice of fake cheese which is only 25 cals and add salsa and its great !

I do the egg beaters...

1/4 cup

Egg Beaters 1 Whole Egg

Calories 30 75

Total Fat 0g 5g

Cholesterol 0mg 210mg

Carbohydrates 1g 1g

Protein 6g 6g

I get the garden veggie egg beaters and do an omlet or scrample and add in a pinch of low fat or fat free shredded cheese.

I also top my eggs with Salsa sometimes for a kick.

Also Special K Protein Plus Cereal has 10g protein per serving cereal. That is Great for a cereal and the carbs aren't too bad at 14g and the Fiber is 5g. Not a bad choice.

On the go I grab a Luna Bar 10g of protein and Lots of flavors.

Hope this helps! :hungry:

I was raised on cold cereals, too, but after my diabetes, I would be comotose in an hour and starving by mid-morning.

I did the eggs(Eggbeaters) -- every which way until I just burned out on them.

One thing I learned to really love for my Breakfast is deli-meats and cheese!!! Quick, easy and portable!

My favorite meat is Boar's Head Brand Rosemary Ham. Roll a thin slice of that around a piece of 2% mozzarella string cheese......YUM!!!

cottage cheese mixed with yogurt is really good. I always hated cottage cheese until my daughter told me to mix it with yogurt. Sometimes I crush up a couple walnuts and put them in there too.

half a cup of cottage cheese

1 cup plain yogourt

1/2 cup of berries

1/3 cup of oatmeal (uncooked)

Mix it all together, eat, it is very filling and low glycemic

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
