I happened to be holding my phone up looking for something (flashlight) and somehow hit the camera button.

what I saw boggles the mind - I had to take and share a picture with you ladies.

sometimes this process seems painfully slow. other times something happens and it is hard for your mind to catch up.

so 4 months ago I looked like I was about 8 months pregnant. serious belly weight. wish I had a good picture to compare, but you can understand why I do not! yikes.

this weird picture shows today. 120 days later. Still a good long ways to go, but it blows my mind how much things have changed.

@@KristenLe usually if I accidentally turn my camera on all I see is two or three chins. :D so this was something different and positive.

I'm dying laughing... The three chins thing... Heheh!!!!! It gets me every time! I am notorious for sticking stuff down the front of my shirt and letting the girls act as a cubby/purse kinda thing. Wallet, keys, money, lipstick, phone, lists all go in my handy dandy front of the shirt pocket. And no... All these items do not go at the same time. Just one or two. Maybe three.

A few months ago (pre surgery) I had a burst of insanity I mean energy so I tossed the phone in its spot and started vacuuming. Then I heard a voice... I looked at the sky, the floor the dog before I realized it was my phone. It was coming from my b-o-o-b-s. I had inadvertently called someone and OH MY GOD I WAS ON FACETIME. I screamed so loud my husband came running. I had thrown the phone across the room by that point and was just gasping and pointing to it. I could hear my friend say "Jennifer you idiot pick up the phone from the floor. I can see the ceiling and hear your screams. James, I feel bad you have to live with her especially since I saw inside her shirt".

Well here is the thing- now that I'm down a few pounds my nifty holder no longer works. I was in Lowes looking at plants when my keys slipped right out of my shirt and hit the floor. I tried to look like I wanted it to happen but something tells me the guy snickering watering the plants didn't buy it. Jerk.

So I'm off to buy bras and think about a more mature way of transporting my stuff.

Awesome job Christinamo7. Keep the pictures coming!

@@jaxmom that is hilarious! knowing my friends I would NEVER live something like that down.

LOL... thank you for the much-needed laugh, ladies!! Thank goodness I don't have Facetime... since I frequently put my phone in my bra, I would very likely give someone one heck of a view...

Thank you for admitting you used yours as a pocket too. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. :)

And my friend loves to remind me of my hissy fit. She's dating a cop and her first instinct was to send him to the house I screamed so loud but then she realized it was me and well, yeah.

I would probably list "Seeing Myself on FaceTime" as a legit phobia. It's right after having my picture taken... Hopefully this surgery changes these fears! I love it when people post pictures.

I've got big time goals huh? ;):)

Jen's Goals for Summer 2016

1. Find a way to transport goods that does not involve undergarments. Come to terms with dream of wishing would wake up with kangsroo type pouch is not going to happen.

-sigh-

2. Get over fear of seeing self on camera. At the very least need to stop shrieking (and possibly saying profane words) when camera points my way.

I accept my challenge. Wish me luck!!

When I read this... I had an image pop into my head of a woman having a plastic surgeon transforming her loose tummy skin into a kangaroo pouch, and nearly snorted a breathe mint out my nose (I don't recommend either the pouch or snorting breath mints).

Wonderful posting, ladies!

I used to put my daily pill vial in my bra where, at times the vial would still be there--nicely tucked under one of the girls the next morning! I think I remember putting items in my bra pocket and NEVER finding them again--like socks in the dryer.

However, last surf fishing trip, I lost: my pill vial, loose change, my car keys (that was a big mess), and a well capped fishing lure!

I have come to the conclusion that I have gone from a 44C to a 38 extra long.

Oh, bother... :)

@Christinamo7--you really do need to place a copy of your "new selfie" and post it on your mirror! What a wonderful gift to yourself.

You are having an amazing journey. Hang on and enjoy the ride!

OMG, I thought the same thing!!!!! Luckily I didn't have a breath mint, so no snorting it out my nose! HAHAHAHAHA

I am a diabetic on an insulin pump, and my bra is my carrier for my pump. Luckily it has a clip so I just tuck it into the cleavage and onto my bra. I can honestly say I've never used my girls or the boulder holder as a "purse".

For the OP, they have a waist strap that they've been advertising that can carry all kind of stuff and you can hide it under your shirt on your waist. I can't think of the name of it now, but it's kind of like a stretchy fanny pack, but it's really thin. I have one from a few years ago that has one pocket and stretches. I use it when the bra isn't a good choice (like with a dress and such). It is called a Spi Belt and works really well for the purpose I need it for. This one being advertised on the TV has 2 zippered compartments, an adjustable belt, and you can literally fit lots of stuff (including your phone) in it. I'll post the name if I see it again.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
