I had my first appointment with my surgeon on March 30, have my VSG date of May 25th! Mine went like this...meeting with surgeon and office staff was given a folder of papers to fill out, including a record of 6 months of weights, which my primary doctor had to sign off on and what diets I have tried in the past and didn't work for me. Then 1 week later was all of the visits (work up day) with psych, NUT, cardiology, pulmonary all in the same day oh and lab work! Then after the surgeons office gathered all the reports from the above, they submitted me to the insurance, 1199 in NY and I had an approval date 2 days after I was submitted. I'm getting sleeved May 25th.

My insurance didn't require a diet, but just getting through all the pre op testing my surgeon requires 4 1/2 months!

I'm curious to know how long did it take from your first appointment with a surgeon to your sugary date? Particularly if your insurance doesn't require weight loss or dieting before the surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
