Unflavored Protein Powder and flavored clear protein drink

Recommended Posts

Getting sleeved in mid-May, thought I saw a post on here for a good unflavored Protein powder and also a clear/more like a Gatorade or similar Protein Drink but now I can't remember the name of them. Anybody remember?

The clear Protein drink is called Isopure, it's sold at GNC in individual glass bottles. There are a lot of different flavors to try(I tolerated grape and apple melon). They aren't the best tasting, but it's a great way to get your Protein in during the clear liquid phase after you leave the hospital. Each bottle contains 40g of protein. As far as the unflavored powder, I have seen a lot of people use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, especially in Soups. I use Designer whey, it's unflavored and contains 19g I think. I added it to my yogurt and also made shakes using almond milk and PB2(healthy powdered peanut butter). Good luck with your surgery, stay hydrated and get in your protein and you will do great.

genpro is the unflavored Protein Powder that I use.. I have gotten used to it and can hardly taste it. I mix it with all sorts of things but mostly Greek yogurt.. gives you a lot of bang for your buck imo.

If there's a Sprouts near you they have an unflavored whey isolate Protein powder that dissolves very well into both hot and cold liquids, and is odorless and tasteless. The drawback is that it doesn't have as much Protein as other powders do, with just 9 grams. It only has 40 calories, zero fat, and zero carbs. The perk of it is that you can buy it by the weight and try it out before deciding to make a larger purchase. I started off with a bag that just cost $2.85.

I've also liked GENEPRO. I'm a bit dubious about the claims, but I will say that I only had positive experiences with the product. It mixed into everything smoothly, and was undetectable. I don't know if it was a matter of causation or correlation but my hair loss really slowed down and I felt more energetic while using it. I just added it to my morning coffee (which my doctor approves of; I know some surgeons are against caffeine) rather than using it as a meal substitute, though.

With both of the unflavored powders you can add them to something like Crystal Light. Gatorade Light is relatively low in calories and carbs and Protein Powder could be mixed into it, though I would only have that as a post-workout drink or something rather than a staple drink.

I really liked the fruit flavored Isopure drinks before surgery, but was repulsed by them afterwards. Anything overly sweet wasn't palatable to me until about 5 months post surgery. They did remind me of Gatorade. I didn't care for Isopure or Unjury's unflavored protein powders, but many do like them.

Syntrax has a lot of fruit-flavored protein powders. Vitamin Shoppe often has them available in sample packs, so you can try them out before committing to one of the big, pantry-space hogging containers. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/b/syntrax/N-9bk#

I second what @@Clementine Sky says about Syntrax nectar. They mix into Water to make a "clear" Protein drink, versus a shake. I liked the Kiwi strawberry flavor.

If you do use genpro, I caution you to only count it as 15 grams of carbs toward your Protein goal, not the 30 grams they claim. There has been no third part or independent study confirming their claim that their formula is the equivalent of 30 grams.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
