When did you eat sushi again? I'm thinking spicy tuna roll, or shaggy dog, or ANYTHING??

I had it a month out, but I didn't really enjoy it. I ended up doing the smoked eel as sashimi--the rice kills it for me. Nine months out I have it occasionally, but honestly, it isn't the same. I LOVE the spicy tuna and spicy crab rolls, but I tend to peel off some of the rice because it just gets too filling too quickly.

Sashimi -- or rolls without rice -- prob 2+ months out.

Probably 6 months out. I think.

Given the choice between sashimi and something like California roll, I still go with sashimi. But at 20 months out, I've had it all.

Love my sushi!

I eat sushi - no rice all the time. Started at about 1 month out.

My place now makes spicy tuna with cucumber instead of rice as a regular on their menu. Crazy yummy...

About 1 month out. I tell them light rice but so far haven't had any issues with rice.

I just had sushi tonight, 4 weeks out. Mushy food. I did not have rice so just took the fish (salmon and tuna) off the rice and ate it plain.

I have no issues with rice. I just don't like it. I figure since i have so little space in my tummy if im going out for sushi im filling what little space i have with the yummy fish not the bland rice

One month out. I had sashimi Walu (white fish) with no rice. It went fine even with wasabi. I also had a spicy scallop roll hand roll but just ate the scallops in a bit of the seaweed. I have been going to happy hour and because of the small amount I eat it is super inexpensive. I probably have it 2 times a week.

I eat sushi/sashimi about 2-3 times a week. Started eating sashimi at 3 months and was just fine.

Usually I eat 3 pieces of salmon sashimi and then 2-3 small pieces of a sushi roll (usually lobster roll lately). I do tend to take out about half the rice from the roll's pieces tho.

I'm about 1 year, 4 months out now.

I have noticed that sashimi goes down very easily. I can actually eat about 2/3 of a full sashimi meal

I've learned to LOVE the riceless rolls! A lot of places will turn things riceless if you ask. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
