I Have My One Year Follow Up Today

  • Popular Post

I was sleeved April 20, 2015 and have my one year follow-up appointment today,

This year has flown by.

I am over half-way to goal.

I am regaining my mobility. A year ago I needed my mom to drive me and a step to get into her SUV (I couldn't get into her sedan). I couldn't do my own grocery shopping, and couldn't walk or stand very long. Today, I am driving myself, and will probably stop and shop after my appointment.

I am swimming laps 3-4+ times a week (since starting to use a fitness tracker a few months ago, I have swum over 150 miles in laps).

I sleep well and don't oversleep much anymore.

I am starting to be able to participate in life again.

If I don't get at least an "ata girl" at my appointment I am going to be disappointed!

My appointment went great. My surgeon wasn't there of course (I figured I wouldn't see him again unless I had complications) but I did see him a few weeks ago at a book signing and he seemed happy with my progress.

The good news: of my labs come back ok I can drop most of my supplements except for the Multivitamin.

The other cool thing is that I have lost enough for my BMI to actually be on the chart on the wall.

I want to thank each of you for the kind words and encouragement. It means a lot to me. I couldn't do it without you.

Congrats! That's awesome! We need to get together and Celebrate at the Bluebird or somewhere!

Outstanding !!!!!!

You are doing great. Great momentum and great progress.

Congratulations! You have had a wonderful year. It is always helpful to me to read your posting. You deserve more than that medi pedi.

Congratulations for all of your hard work.

@@Inner Surfer Girl,

You are a model patient! If you don’t get at least an “atta girl,” you come right back here for even more encouragement and praise than you’ve already gotten!

Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You have made such incredible progress, and you really are an inspiration. You also contribute so much to this community, so thank you for that!

And now, I see that you have come back from your appointment with good news. Congratulations on taking care of yourself well enough to be able to drop most of your supplements! And nice job getting onto the BMI chart! It’ll be fun to see you getting to the other end of that chart as you keep heading towards goal weight. :)

Congrats again!

I figure you will get more than an "Ata girl." Your weight loss is amazing and an inspiration to others. You were one of the first people to responded to some of my questions. Your helpfulness and encouragement is so welcome in these days of cynicism and negativity.

Congratulations for making it through the year and making the rest of us look like slackers! LOL Just kidding!

YOU ROCK - - - Inner Surfer Girl!!!!!! :D :D :D
