I'm so Pleased to have reached this milestone!! Well to be accurate I skipped right passed it as yesterday I was at 99lb lost and today I am 101lb lost! But it really feels Like a significant milestone even though I am just over 10 months from surgery, so my weight loss hasn't exactly been swift, but I'm happy with slow and steady :-)

That's fantastic! What do you mean "my weight loss hasn't axactly been swift"? 10 lbs a month is totally awesome, and twice to three times faster than I've been able to achieve since my teens. Own your achievement! Celebrate!

LOL! 100 pounds in 10 months is "slow and steady" to some people ... I guess.

:)

Congratulations. I don't think you know how lucky you are.

Sorry, please don't be mistaken. I am hugely grateful for the progress I have made and the smooth journey I have had to date. I have been very blessed and I don't under estimate that at all.

I guess I am a)not very good at either complimenting myself or taking compliments off others, and b )quite self critical - so I read about plenty of people who do 100lbs or more in six months or less...and in comparison my loss is slower.

Either way, I am thrilled and feel so much better in so many ways. Took me years to find the courage to have surgery and I'm so very glad I did!

Still have another 20-30lbs to get to goal, but I'll keep on keeping on

@madferitchick Slow and steady WINS the race !!

You should be SO proud of all you've been able to accomplish since surgery ...

As with you, it too, took me a while to FINALLY get up the nerve and the courage and the "balls" to have this surgery ...

Now that I'm 9 months out ... I WISH I'D DONE IT YEEEEEAAAARS AGO!!!

Again, congratulations ... YOU deserve it !!!

Thankyou @@MrsKarenC2008 and well done to you too! I also wish I'd done it years ago but I guess the process of making the decision is all part of it!

@@kaitlynm I kind of celebrated early as I've just been on holiday with my family to Florida for two weeks (I'm from the UK) and I did ALOT of clothes shopping...like really ALOT!! Lol! And I loved every minute of it! Having to ask for a medium in lucky brand, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael kors etc because the large was too big was just surreal!! But I think my shopping spree definitely counts as a celebration lol!

Awesome I'm 6 weeks after surgery today and officially out of recovery stages and I lost 47. My goal was 50 and hopefully tomorrow I'll be there. I would love to be down 100 by July.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
