Green Zone Description

Recommended Posts

Please explain what the green zone feels like? I went for a fill today after 4.5 years. I had 5.5ccs of saline in the band prior to the fill. I was given .5ccs which took me to 6ccs. I was too tight and threw up Water while in the office. My doctor removed .25ccs to get me to 5.75ccs. I can easily drink water without any restriction. How do you know when you are in the green zone?

My experience of the green zone is not being aware you have a band and being able to eat small amounts of food comfortably. The band lets me know when to stop and if I don't stop I feel very tight in the chest and throat and would have to bring some of the food up to feel comfortable again. I also never get really hungry. Hope that helps. Good luck

My hunger - cravings are almost non existant, really don't think about eating all that much.

And when I do eat the band restricts how much I can eat before I get into trouble...so my portions are under control making it next to impossible to over eat.

The band also prohibits (difficult) to eat certain types of foods. Turns out those foods are not good to eat anyway so I'm ahead of the game.

Green Zone:

1) Not hungry (period)

2) Good weight loss

3) Portion Control

4) Patient Satisfaction

Yellow Zone:

1) Hungry Between Meals

2) Eating Large Portions

3) Not Loosing weight

Red Zone:

1) Poor food Choices

2) Regurgitaton

3) Discomfort while eating

4) Poor Weight Loss

5) Night Coughs

Thank you both for responding. I may possibly be in the green zone. I am not hungry and when I eat, I get full much faster than usual. I am making a conscience effort to follow the band eating style. I hope to see weight loss soon.

I went for a fill today. I weighed and was told I lost 7 pounds since my March visit, which was 4 months ago. Day one and I do not feel hungry. I have head hunger. At 11:30 AM, I strained the broth from a bowl of chicken Noodle Soup. I discarded the noodles and sipped on the broth. Later, I had a few cashews. I just had a cup of hot tea, but my mind is still on food. My doctor wants me on liquids until Wednesday. Any tips to get through this liquid phase will be appreciated.

When I was in the green zone I could:

1.) Eat anything I wanted, just not much of it.

2.) My soft stop was a sigh and if I kept eating my stomach would hurt bad.

3.) I lost 2-5 pounds per week.

4.) I wasn't hungry but ate regularly anyway.

I had a stomach virus and had to get some Fluid taken out so that I could vomit without causing problems, I never went back to get it put back in and gained a lot of weight rather quickly. I'm back getting fills again but it's a lot harder finding my sweet spot than it was the last time. I really miss being Green because I could eat and drink "normally" without any adverse effects.

Hi Pretty,

I hope you get to green again soon. This is the first time in 7 years since getting my band that I am not hungry after a fill. There are still terms like restriction that I do not get though.

I have been banded for nearly 3 months now, and I still haven't lost any weight apart from the 2 kg that I lost postop on liquid diet (!!)

Have had some fills; currently 7,1 of 10cc band. I don't know what the green should feel like !

Is "feeling full" different than being stuck ? I tend to confuse the two terms ! I do get stuck occasionally, but I still feel hunger and cravings much !

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
