Calling all February 1st Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on the 3rd. I have LOVED reading through this. It feels so validating. I lost 14 pound the first two weeks post surgery and haven't lost anything since. I knew stalls were going to come, I just didn't expect to see one so soon. I like the idea of weighing once a week...I just can't get off the scale. I never would have imagined. Thanks for sharing your experiences!!

I had surgery 2/2/16 so I am in the same spot as everyone here. I have been eating soft fried eggs every morning for like 4 days now. No issues whatsoever. My HW is 390 my Pre Op Weight was 365, CW is 328!!! Im male, 5,10 (single lol) I'm feeling great! Also I've had a couple servings of alcohol, one whiskey sour and sipped one shot of Patron tequila. All went down smooth. Tried wine once but it was too acidic going down. Alcohol will def be a once in a great while thing tho. I was two lbs lighter on the scale the next day if you can believe it!

How did you know you were bleeding?

TMI. Warning: I had blood in my stool and urin. Went to the doctors and they said I was bleeding and asked if I had consumed alcohol. Lol

My consumption was mindless.. and it hurt when I drank it.

Yikes! I would have freaked out to see blood. I have been looking for information about hiatal hernias. I had one repaired when I was sleeved. Well last night I had gas, I took the gas x pills as the strips doesn't seem to work anymore. Well I sipped some Water with the pills apparently I didn't sip enough because I fell asleep. I woke up about 2 hours later with esophageal pain. I drank more water and I felt the pills going down. Well today my esophagus is still hurting. I called my surgeon's office and they said to drink cold liquids today and if it's not better in 2 days they'll do an exam on it. Has this happened to anyone? I also have not been taking my PPIs, which may have something to do with it.

I did flip I was convinced the wine burnt a hole my my new stomach and I was dying. ... yes a bit extreme but so is blood. I was a mess till they told me I would be okay.

Said it was like pouring alcohol on a fresh cut... causes it to bleed more and it hurts.

Hi everyone, how are you all doing with your weight loss and eating new foods? Since the day I walked into my surgeon's office I've lost about 22lbs but 17 since the surgery. I just starting eating blended, mashed foods this week and I guess I'm doing ok. I have noticed with certain foods that I get an uncomfortable pain in my chest (probably esophagus). Have you all experienced this? I'm hoping this will go away. .....soon.:/

I experienced the same. My dr says that that's my body telling me I'm not ready for that food. Just eat that food another week or so and try again.

Yup and I got the same response. Not ready for that.

Try again... right now Greek strawberry cheese cake yogurt is my bestie.

Finally hit the gym and feel great. How is everyone else doing?

It feels so good to be moving. But man! I am out of shape!
Haha me too. But little by little we can do it.

This is my second week at the gym... last week I did three days, this week I will get in four days. I have to say I was already someone who went to the gym before this new tummy, but this is different. There is a emotional connection that I didn't have before and I really like it.

Sweating never felt so good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
