My surgery was 1/15 and getting in all my ounces and Water is tough! Some days it's easy other days I feel nauseous and don't want to drink a thing. I haven't felt hungry at all (ever) since surgery. However I have some serious cramping going on that kicks at the worst of times.

Thankfully the post-surgery soreness is gone now (for the most part).

Aw you had yours on my bday ☺️ are you not able to drink so much or simply not being able to sip it without the urge to gulp is the hard part?

Happy belated birthday!!! And gulping isn't the issue, it's remembering to drink the liquids and allowing myself enough time to complete the meal. Pre-op I was grab and go, and now I have to sit down and give myself time for things to go down. It's a weird concept.

I also did the mani/pedi thing the day before my surgery 2 weeks ago. When I had my pre-op meeting at the hospital w/ nurse & anesthesiologist the afternoon before my procedure, they said no nail polish! They said polish interferes with an accurate HR monitor reading or oxygen saturation reading (can't remember)--the thingy they clip onto your finger. My compromise was to remove gel polish from one finger & one toe (sometimes they clip that thing onto a toe! Well, 2 weeks later & my mani/pedi still looks great...except for the one bare finger & toe, LOL!

I am hoping to be sleeved in February. I have done all my classes and steps, and see my doctor on Thursday. I am hoping at that appointment, I will be able to schedule my surgery consult. My fear at this point is that there will be more hoops. I am preparing myself, but I know I will be disappointed if there is more of a delay. I am nervous about the two weeks of liquids that my program requires pre-op, But I am trying to look at it like a very small sacrifice. I am self pay, so no insurance hold ups. Just ready to get this going!

I just got the call Tomorrow Tuesday Jan 26th at 11:30 I am to go to the hospital. Have been on 2 days of Clear Liquids. Had pictures taken today. This has been a long journey as I had been trying for many years to lose weight on my own and when I first saw the surgeon I had all ready lost 145 pounds. He put me on a 6 month supervised diet as was requested by my insurance. So from June until today I lost another 36 pounds. Now the remaining 162 will come off with the tool of having the sleeve.

Good luck sleeve sister. Wow you got a early surgery time, mine isn't until 12:30 today. The not being able to drink anything is really difficult as my throat is so dry it is hurting me. Hope we both have an easy surgery. Mine will be longer as the gallbladder is coming out and the surgeon may also have to take the umbilical hernia out if he can't work around it, in addition to getting the sleeve. Let us know how you are doing. I will be in for 1 night I hope and back into my bed Wednesday night.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
