Love it! My bras don't fit.

I love pretty bras. Even overweight/obese I had a rainbow of them. (I have weird obsession with wearing a bra that matches my shirt) I love the Cacique bras for the support and lift, and have dozens of them. My DH jokes that I have "bra Christmas trees" because I hang numerous ones from one strap onto a clothes hanger, lol. I have a hanger in the laundry room just to air dry them. I even hang them in the closet because they took too much room in a drawer : (

When we lost my son I literally gained so much, so fast, that I had to get those bra extenders. About 20lbs down I was able to stop using those... then I lost 20lbs more and was having to use the last/tightest hooks. I realized today that my bras are all too big around! One of the measurements I took to start was my ribcage (right at the bra band level) and it has gone from 44 in to 36.5 in!

My bras don't fit at all! This is a great NSV for me!

It's terrible we can't get beautiful bras. Not only am I large, but I'm extremely large breasted. It annoys the heck out of me that I can find, say, a 36-J but not a 44-J. Apparently large women only go up in band size. We all have small to medium-ish boobies. ;)

Now, I am a fanatic about proper bra fitting. 80-90% of women are fitting their bras wrong. You can't trust the women in the department stores/Victoria's Secret, etc. This is the best video to explain proper bra fitting that I have ever found. My bras all fit properly because I fit this way. Same for my daughter and sister. So, make sure you get the absolutely most gorgeous bras that also fit you right so you look extra gorgeous!

Congratulations on your bras no longer fitting you. I too will be thrilled when I have to buy pretty colored new ones. My body including my breast are so huge I can't even begin to imagine what my body will look like when I finally get the surgery and get to my goal.

@ssflbelle I had that shape that when young is very thin and curvy, when overweight it all goes to the boobs and butt. You will most likely keep the same shape you had.

@songsmith I know! I think in 7th grade I was 5'3 and wore a 32DD. I probably weighed 100 lbs soaking wet. My mother was curvy too and took me to my 1st Bra Fitting!

@@liannatx Oh girl you better start saving now for a new collection. I went from a 40 DDD to a 32 barely D. One of the ladies here was sweet enough to send me 5 VS bras when I started losing and they have been great but my boobs are staring to do acrobatics and spring right out!

@Elode I will have something done to them eventually. I know the bigger they are they harder they fall.

I used to be a match the bra to the outfit gal. That got a little tricky as I gained. By the time I was sleeved I still had pretty bras, but not quite the assortment I used to have. I've gone from a 46DD and sometimes DDD to a 40C. I recently bought 3 regular bras and 2 sports bras and I just rotate and wash them out at night. It's a weird but good problem to have.

@@liannatx, you must be thrilled to be wearing such pretty bras. Cacique makes lovely ones. I also like Bravissimo, Freya and Panache. Elomi is owned by Wacoal and is 4 or 5 companies that caters to women with larger cup sizes. Tutti Rouge bras are just cute as buttons. I can't imagine all the fun you must be having now. I can hardly wait to leave Goddess behind.

I buy most of mine online from companies that specialize in bras because I can find a far greater brand selection (and better prices).

Congrats on your NSV!!!

Sadly I'm having a hard time accepting the shrinking. Before surgery I was a 40DDD. Today I was professionally measured for the first time since surgery at a 38B or C depending on the bra.

I cried. I knew they would shrink but at 5 weeks post op I wasn't thinking it would be this fast. Honestly my chest was the ONE thing I liked about myself when I was overweight. It was the one thing I knew I had that I could flaunt and made me feel sexy. Regardless of all the fat. But today felt like someone ripped my "sexy security blanket" from me.

I know I'll get over it. I'm grateful for my weight loss and being healthy but it's hard to let go of the one part of me that I loved and made me feel good about myself for so long. Learning to love my new body has been a lot harder than I thought. It's so foreign to me.

Once again I am off shopping today and a couple of new bra's is top of the list. I was 44DD now in a 38D and I have a feeling from the fit of this bra now that I will be down to a 36C. I didn't think I would be but honestly, I am over the moon about it :)

Yes the old big bras have got to go! I started out at 42 DD and surgery date 16 th July 2015, got measured professionally 23 October and now a 36 g or double g depending on make and style of bra. Am I happy yes and no, but my three new bras are beautiful and tho I say it myself I look good in them !

Ah yes, I loved all my Cacique colored balconette bras size 46c. Am now down to 40 (tho they are now seeming a bit big) and I actually had to go up a cup size and my favorite balconettes don't work anymore. ???? I switched to the plunge bra which seemed to help move all the extra to the right place. I have 55 pounds to go so I can't image what size I will get to - 36 I guess? Very strange to think I might be able to buy bras at someplace other than Cacique. By the way, I donated all my bras to a place in Arizona that is able to repair / redistribute them. Made me feel better about getting rid of them! Now I only am buying 2 bras at a time - one black and one tan - but can't wait until I can have more colors when I stabilize

@LoseItKacy I know exactly what you mean. They have always been one of my body parts that I loved, thin or fat. But they are surely shrinking along with everthing else. As I am losing they tend to droop more as they get smaller too... there isn't as much fat filling them out, lol.

Mine tend to stay proportionate to my build, no matter what weight, for the most part... I am just worried about the amount of droop I will end up with.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
