My First 5-Day Pouch Test Starts Today. Anyone else tried this? What were your results?

Recommended Posts

I've been banded for nearly 2 1/2 years and I'm thrilled to say I'm maintaining my weight loss, I do so with a 5-7lbs flex on the scale but I've learned not to freak out about it like I used to, but after 3 weekends in a row of birthday celebrations I just feel like crap. I notice I'm craving things I normally don't and when I walk away from the cravings instead of feeling victorious I feel miserable because I have that feeling of deprivation so I decided today was the day to tune and detox my body so I can fight the rearing head of the carb monster!

It's amazing how making the right and wrong food choices totally effects every aspect of your life!

So thankful I have this little tool to help guide me through moments like this! A few days of bringing myself back to basics is just what I need!!!! Reeling myself back in so to speak:-)

Has anyone else tried this? Did you notice the carb cravings diminish?

YES & it works because it's like your starting at the beginning again if you stick with it also if you hadn't have a fill yet check in to it with your Surgeon or maybe just get one it will maybe help, just a suggestion but if you stick with the 5 day pouch test it works.

@@Debbie3sons awesome! Thanks for the encouragement! I'm not having an issue with eating more the amount is still the same it's just the kind of food I'm wanting isn't the right kind so I was hoping this would put me back in line. Glad to know it works! Thanks so much for the help.....as always!:-)

I do it every now and then, 6-8 weeks...but not 5 days, and not ther schedule put forth in the 5 day...I just go all liquids for at least 2 days, sometimes 3.

I don't do it to get back to basics...I do it to let my band have a rest, and recover from any stretching.

A Dr. will take Fluid out of your band to accomplish the same thing...I just lay off solids.

That's about the only maintenance I can think of with the band.

@@JustWatchMe it went extremely well! I could definitely tell the difference. It reset my pouch and got things back into alignment, dimmed the crazy carb monster and overall just made me feel better. If you haven't tried it I would give it a go. I plan on making this part of my maintenance routine like B52 suggests about once every couple of months or so. I will know when it's time.

Hope you are doing well!!!!

So glad you're doing well and feeling better. Birthdays, holidays, etc. can do a number. I do a few days off from food every so often and always feel really great. I drink a lot of cranberry-aloe-Water and herbal teas, splurge on fresh-pressed greens juices and that kind of thing. Oh, I also do the whole colonic hydrotherapy thing once in a while, too, and/or a true liver flush.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
