I think the 2nd or 3rd night I just arranged a pillow to prop myself up on my side. It worked out okay.

When I was waking up in recovery, on my back, I reached over, grabbed the bedrail, and pulled myself onto my side. It felt so much better than laying on my back.

I've been sleeping on my side since the first night in the hospital.

I have a 10 month old baby, and ever since I was pregnant, I have arranged this belly/leg prop thing. I never stopped doing it and now its really coming in handy. Pillow under belly, pillow between knees and something behind my back.... just sleep like a pregnant lady . lol

After the first week I was on my side. Hugging a small pillow helped with the uncomfortable feeling from incision sites.

I like to sleep fully on my side and not just propped up (though that helps), but it was a good 3 weeks before that really felt comfortable for me. Guess everyone is different depending on where exactly their incisions are, etc.

Pillow under the belly, one between the knees. I was able to sleep on the "other" side, i.e. the side opposite from where they removed the stomach. I was able to comfortably do that just past the week mark.

I'll be honest, it remained too uncomfortable for me to sleep on my side for 8-10 weeks. For some reason I had too much pain/discomfort until then.

I am a side sleeper but had to wait until about week 3 before feeling comfortable to sleep on my side.

First night was BLISS :P

Slept on either side starting the first night. I just pinned the drain to the front of my jammies so I wouldn't roll on it. Took 3 weeks before I could sleep on my stomach because I was so bloated.

I slept on a recliner in my living room for the first couple weeks because I couldn't comfortably sleep in my bed, even propping myself up with pillows. It might have partly been that I have an old-fashioned Iron bed that doesn't have a solid headboard. But after that, I was back to sleeping on my side.

I'm 3 days out, and managed to roll over on my side for a few minutes... Prop yourself with a pillow as you roll over.

I THINK IT WAS LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE I QUIT HAVING THE PULLING/BURNING SENSATION WHILE LAYING ON MY SIDE.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
