6 Month diet I am 2months in.

Recommended Posts

Per my insurance Blue cross and Blue Shield I am required to be on a diet for 6months. I have been to the nutritionist (3) times the DR once I have been to the performance center as well as the physiologist. Does anyone know if they will allow the surgery before the 6 months is up?

I doubt it.....my insurance wanted the 6 months diet to show, on the official record, that I sincwerley attempted (and failed) at loosing the weight the traditional way.

Telling them I have been though many diet programs was not good enough...it was just my word.

They wanted something official, wirth charts, graphs and progress notes, all signed off by a MD that would go in my record, and justifying surgery as a last resort.

Did they explain to you why YOUR insurance requires this???

@@Tryn2live1979 I can't comment on the insurance process as they are all different but I just want to say congratulations on choosing your healthy future -- it will all be worth it. I started my process in June 2013 and had my surgery in November so it was five months. I knew what I wanted and this felt like the longest wait in the world. In hindsight, though, it gave me time to get ready. I went to a therapist and worked on my triggers, and it was good to have that extra support. Also I upped my exercise. Good luck with all -- don't be afraid to call your insurance company to get all the info you need. I must have called five times to verify everything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
