My file is in "Review" with Cigna!

Recommended Posts

I've been to the emergency room this weekend found out I have a bulging disc in lower back and I have degenerative disc disease....and I'm in severe pain I'm on steroids tramadol and flexeril....last week I was denied my gastric bypass because there was no medical nessessity...I watched my father die of congestive heart failure my mom has high blood pressure and diabetes. My sister has the same thing. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol on top of the degenerative disc disease and bulging disc. Is that not enough to approve it?

That should be enough. Have you actually received a denial letter? If so, then your doctor submitted incorrect or incomplete info. You may have to file an appeal documenting everything that is outlined in that letter IF they don't approve. Have you reviewed the details to the Cigna requirements? Do you know that your specific plan covers weight loss surgery? (I was told by them about half of their plans do and half don't.)

I received a denial letter....Ive read everything I could and even confirmed with cigna that they cover the surgery..Ive talked to them numerous times asking questions about the coverage and other things...But, still NOTHING. :(

@@Blueeyes66 - then you are definitely going to have to file an appeal and get copies of all the stuff they say they don't have from your doctor. The surgeon has to release those records to you. You will have to send that info with a letter filing the appeal. Annoying for sure. Your surgeon's office should be doing this but if they won't, you will have to. Sorry. Very frustrating.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
