No three week stall... When?

Recommended Posts

I just hit four weeks post- op, and managed to avoid the dreaded three week stall. I'm thanking my lucky stars for that, but I'm not an idiot, I'm sure it will happen eventually.

So I'm curious... For those of you who didn't have a week three stall, when did you see your first stall?

(Side note: I do realize that others experiences have no impact on what mine will be. I'm just curious.)

I never had the three week stall either. I'm at 3 months now and seem to be hitting my first one. I'm 5'9.5, SW 259, CW 208.3

I don't know if I had any because I rarely weighed so I always lost when I did BUT I'd say now that it lost 107 lbs and am close to goal I think I've been sitting at numbers longer.

Geez, I'd almost rather have my first stall at 3 weeks than 3 months... At least right now I'm expecting it to happen. If I got to 12 weeks without one, I wouldn't see it coming.

I didn't have any stalls until about 3 1/2 months when I didn't lose anything for a week (my definition of a stall) which can probably be chalked up to a bit of Water retention from travelling (higher sodium intake from eating out more, altered activity routine, etc.) Weight loss did slow as expected at the three week point - that's when we typically exhaust our short term energy reserves of glycogen, which burns quickly, and start burning our long term stores of fat, which burns more slowly.

THIS^^^ I can't say I ever had a stall, but I weigh approximately once a month. At 109lbs down the weight loss feels like it has slowed some.

How about a virtual hug from me? I don't think I could get my foot up high enough to kick you in the pants, nor would I if I could!

I'll fall back on my usual questions.

Are you getting in all your Protein and Water? What does your NUT recommend?

Your positivity and practicality are inspiring to me. I hope you will extend yourself some of that positivity.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
