There are a few of us on here. I am in Alsip on the far southwest side. My sleeve was done 12/23/2013 at Loyola University Medical Center. Where are you having your surgery? What part of this great metropolis are you in?

I am in the northwest suburbs , Geneva area. How is everything going for you? My surgery is October 16th at St. Alexius In hoffman Estates.

Who was your doctor?

My Dr is Woody Denham at Evanston Hospital. It's been 9 weeks and I'm kind of stalled but I'm happy with the progress so far. Anyone interested in meeting?

The nurses at Alexian brothers in Elk Grove were amazing!!!! You'll be in great hands!

Do you add things to your shakes to make them more filling?

That is what I've heard. My buddy did bypass there in Feb. And he said the same thing about nurses. Yes, I do add frozen pineapple, banana, cooked beet's, yogurt, not for the taste, but to feel full. Honestly I cheated all two weeks, I had some grilled chicken breast, few slices of corn beef. Nothing serious, but men, it is hard.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
