  1. Please!!! give more information on this. I am going crazy with the bad taste. I also experience the whole build up of mucous. Then I want to throw up. When I do it is only mucous. The sad thing about me is I know I am not eating too much. I can have a bit of whatever meat I am trying and I go through this. I have come to the realization I will no longer be able to eat chicken other the chicken salad. I have tried chicken several ways and I get the horrible taste and then feel like crap. We will get through this!!!!
  2. I drink 2 Protein shakes everyday. Believe me some day I hate doing it. Like tonight I drank one around 7:30pm and will drink another one before I go to bed. I will have a hard time getting my protein once I start eating. Good luck.

  6. I went through the same thing. My bad feeling was coming from the type of potassium I was taking. I was given a different kind and the problem went away. Unfortunately, some of us have bad side effects from having the surgery. The good thing is everyone says it does get better. I am on may way to having normal days again. You will get there please just hang in there.

  8. I can honestly say I have seen mu surgeon every time I needed to see him. He is so approachable and goes the extra yard for his patients. Everyday that I was in the hospital he came back and stay awhile (no drive by visits). The first time I came to office because I wasn't feeling well he ride away did an xray of me swallowing barium to make sure everything was going down correctly. I recently had to go see him again and he was friendly and very concerned about me. He did another xray and found something wrong. He explained to me what has to be done to correct the problem then hugged me and said I am so sorry you are having these problems. The problem I am having is not being able to eat or drink without trying to throw up. I am lucky to have Dr. Lehman as my doctor because my general doctor definitely didn't care about his patients.
  9. Hello again. Well I will have my procedure done April 19,2016. I will let you know how things go from there.

  11. I feel your pain. I can honestly say I have had three good days since my surgery( March 1). Instead of me progressing to the next stage I am going backwards. I am back to only drinking Protein shakes. No matter what I try to eat I end up feeling like cap. I have gone to the doctor twice and this last time the doctor took a xray while swallowing barium and found out that the tube connected to my pouch is slowly closing. Because of this no matter what I drink or try to eat it gets stuck and slowly goes down then I get sick. UnfortunatelyI have nothing to throw up but lots of saliva. Most of the time I am dry heaving. The doctor will set me up with an out patient procedure to widen the tube. As your doctor to do a xray. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
  12. Omg!!!! I noticed the smell about few days ago around 2 in the morning. I said what is that smell?? Is that me smelling like that? Get up and wash your A$$ girl. I take pride in my hygiene but this is a bit much. I am like the other responders, one more thing they didn't tell us about. I am already having emotional issues because I am so confused as to what my body is doing on a day to day basis. NOW I stink. Well they say beauty is pain or the price you pay to be beautiful!!!!!!!! I sorry guys but I have to make myself laugh to keep from crying again. Good luck everyone.

  18. It will get better. I am 2 weeks out also. My doctor told me I was feeling weak because my blood levels were low and I was dehydrated. I also stopped taking my bp meds because my bp has has gone done a lot. Please keep your head up it does get better. I am back to work already. Believe me some days I am tired but I just rest as soon as I get home. Good luck
  19. I am one of those who are not in pain. I am 2 weeks out. I went back to work already. Now I will say this, the first couple of days home from the hospital I felt like I was going to faint. This was because my blood level dropped and it is still low. I have days when I feel weak but I keep going. People tell me I need to stop moving so much before I end up in the hospital. I still have not gotten hungry. I drink 2 shakes a day. As far as something with substance I can tolerate sardines, avocados, and cottage cheese. I tried creamed soups and I felt like death was on my door after eating them. I can't wait until I can tolerate more. Good luck and congratulations.

  21. Unfortunately, I am just one week out today. The problem I am having is I have no desire to eat or drink. Which is causing me to feel light headed and drained. I have started making myself eat cottage cheese and more Water. At this point I have no idea what my limit is. No matter how I am feeling about food right now I make myself drink at least 2 Protein shakes. If the calorie intake is too much for you decrease it. Only eat as much as you can and making it the right choices of food. Hopefully I helped a little and good luck. Darnella
  22. Hello everyone, I am feeling occasional pain on my left side but other then that no other pain. What I am feeling is very weak and no desire to eat or drink. I am literally forcing myself to drink the protein shakes. Did anyone feel this way? It is very scary because I am alway full of energy. Just sitting and trying to do homework drains me. Will this go away and how soon?
  23. I did my version of the preop diet. I drank my two protein shakes a day but i decreased my one meal that I could eat. You will get through this I did. Even though I did loose weight when I went in for my surgery everything turned out fine for me.

  29. I was aware of my weight gain but I just tried to ignore it. When I finally realized how much I gained I was upset only with myself. I know I have caused harm to myself. But I can't cry over my past the surgery is a new beginning for all of us. Stay encouraged your surgery day is coming.
