YLLUZ - call your doc to see if you can have motrin or if they can prescribe something you can take that is a little stronger than TYLENOL. Do you have a heating pad? Hope you feel better soon.

Most Pamprin and Midol's have aspirin and acetaminophen in them. I'm gonna miss the heck outta them!

Check with your doc. I know many say no NSAIDS, but mine said the occasional NSAID was fine if I had a headache or something since I have no issues with stomach acid. He didn't want me taking it long term or for anything chronic, but is fine with a few here and there (I am a runner so that's a huge boon for me for the occasional injury). Otherwise ask for a prescription of Tramadol. It's a non NSAID non narcotic pain reliever that works quite well.

Motrin can cause unexpected bleeding ulcers in the stomach so it's not to be taken (since we do t have any stomach to lose at this point). I was taking 2400 mg a day (800 mg 3x/day in conjunction with pain pills) for arthritis and have given it up completely. I can use topical creams, but no more oral Motrin or NSAIDS. If Pamperin has Tylenol in it, that's great! I hope you find some relief.

My surgeon said no topical NSAIDs for my bad knee so will have to try menthol or other homeopathic options, or maybe some cold gel...but no NSAIDs for 10 days preop.

I used to take herbal supplements that helped. Let me see if I can find the link. It's been a while since I needed it.

Okay this is what I did. I am now post menopausal, but for years I had painful irregular cramps. These actually did help me. Double check with your doctor to make sure they are okay for folks with sleeves. I also took Vitamin along with my regular Multivitamin.

  • Magnesium, 360 mg daily for 3 days on the day before menstruation starts. One study found taking this dose reduced menstrual cramps. A few other preliminary studies have also suggested that magnesium may help reduce menstrual pain. Too much magnesium can cause diarrhea and lower blood pressure. If you have digestive problems or heart disease, ask your doctor before taking magnesium. Magnesium can interact with many medications, including antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin (Cipro), levofloxacin (Levaquin), and tetracycline; bone-building drugs such as alendronate (Fosamax), and risedronate (Actonel); diuretics (Water pills); and other drugs.
  • I also used - Black cohosh (Actaea racemosa) standardized extract, 20 to 40 mg, 2 times a day. Black cohosh may interact with medications processed by the liver, including acetaminophen (Tylenol), atorvastatin (Lipitor), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), and others.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
