Going in for the BIG reveal....

Recommended Posts

So for those who have been following Dave's cancer situation, here is the latest.... Today is FINALLY the PET scan...after 5, yes 5, denials from insurance, he is having it today. It should reveal where the cancer is, in it's entirety, we hope. He finished his 6th chemo treatment almost 2 weeks ago, and most of the side effects have diminished. He meets with the surgeon on the 1st of September, where he will schedule the surgery.

He had a challenging week at work, due to the fact it was refresher training, requiring lots of physical activity, but he sailed through it quite well. I was able to be with him for the physical part, just in case. No injuries were sustained, which was the point for my presence.

Now, after almost 4 months of not knowing the extent of the cancer, it will finally be known, and I have to say, I am scared %#*%#!$&*((. I have left this all in the Hands of the Good Lord, but being human, there is still that gut-wrenching fear, until I know what we're up against.

So here's where all of you awesome folks come in...once again I ask for your prayers, that if there HAS to be cancer, that it is confined to the immediate locale of the tumor. That it is minimal, that it will be successfully removed during surgery, that the chemo has done it's work in destroying it. That it hasn't spread to any other areas of the body. That he WILL be cured, and it is put into remission...for good. Your constant support and prayers have been most welcome, most appreciated, and I ask that God bless you all, forever. Thank you, and I'll keep you posted when we get results.

Jenifer

Jenifer, thank you so much for the update. Still praying and sending more hugs. I can only imagine how scary this is for you but can only believe that more information can only help his treatment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
